However flipside if this deal is for like 300-400k a year and makes us an immediately better side and potentially gets us a top 4 season. Would people still be mad? its not always about money. Broncos at present seem like a good fit with walsh and mam and co just winning a GF and being flavour of the month.

I get that - Brisbane is 1000% a better prospect than Parra - which is why we know we are just being used for 2026 for the $$ and first grade reps - which is why it is a dud deal for us. Great for Pezet, great for Anasta, great for Broncos.

Mixed feelings about this one. On the one hand we can’t go into next year with our current stocks, we’re just wasting another season.
On the other, doesn’t do much for long term combos.

Are combos more important than extra talent in the roster, even for a year? The Broncos just won the comp with Ben Hunt in his first year at the club. Four different merkins played in the halves in that grand final win.

They must really rate one of the youngsters or have a big name lined up for 2027.

Not 100%, but maybe 90%. The reason is that most of the public thinks long term results are more important than the current season. They are delusional.
