PNG could sign a 1 million dollar player for 600k - Also everything is provided for the player plus the players partner/family if they reside in PNG.

I think Australia's overall standard of living is slightly better than PNG's. Not saying PNG shouldn't have a team, but I think PNG people have more important things to worry about.

They may well be happier than us. They may not have confusion about their gender for example. I would say PNG has better mental health standards.

“Compound” is just a word the media uses for clicks. If the same facilities were on offer in Sydney no one would agree the word compound fits the description.

Agree "Compound" was not the right word as it has a "prison" type connotation. Call it a resort or gated community or whatever. It doesn't change the fact that unlike any other place where there is an NRL team you don't have to build such a facility to attract or make it safe for players to come and play for that team.
