I’m surprised we aren’t getting clubs taking any games to PNG, reckon it would be pretty easy get a gov grant, from both Aus & PNG.

Regards to Magic Round, I believe the event is big enough that the Broncos could have the have the bye and it won't effect the weekend.

From a tourism point, Visit Qld (Whatever the tourism body is called) would probably want all out of towns teams to play, because that brings more economic benefit that locals.

Anyways a mute point for 2027 when Perth enter as we will have 18 Teams. My Guess Brisbane would be best placed on Thursday night as a stand alone. DH Friday. TH Sat and Sun.

So far each bye team has been different so it has been shared around and hopefully that continues when we have odd number of teams.
Give them a solid drawing opposition as a Thursday standalone. You want a Qld team on every day, but Brisbane vs a solid drawing side would almost guarantee a sell out. You’d push for 200k attendance over 4 nights.

Thursday
Broncos vs Roosters

Friday
Knights vs Warriors
Dolphins vs Raiders

Saturday
Sea Eagles vs Rabbitohs
Sharks vs Bears
Cowboys vs Eels

Sunday
Panthers vs Dragons
Titans vs Tigers
Bulldogs vs Storm

There is so much self interest in this thread. Obviously a lot of posters on this site are supporters of their club and not necessarily the overall game.

Same every year, the Broncos always get looked after. Pretty shit when they play 2 away games at their home ground and continually get long breaks between games.

Yawn. What do you want the Dolphins to do with their home game against the Broncos? Move it to the GC? I don't see any complaining about the below happening most years.

- Roosters. 2 "away" games at home ground.
- Eels. 2 "away" games at home ground.
- Panthers. 2 "away" games at home ground.
- Roosters. 2 "away" games at home ground.
- Bulldogs. 1 "away" games at home ground.
- Rabbitohs. 1 "away" games at home ground.

Does feel slightly incomplete to include the Vegas travel but then not include the WCC travel.

Yes WCC is a week earlier, but the Vegas teams also get an additional week compared to everyone else.

I dare say because the WCC is not an NRL competition game. Just like neither are trials (for example).

This article discusses what the NRL may contemplate in future years with the addition of new teams. Talk is reducing the comp to 20 rounds or so, thus having more rep games in standalone weeks/weekends -

If they do have a 19 round comp where each team plays each other once during the season you could have a proper home and away season over 2 years. Also it frees up time where teams aren't penalised come State Of Origin time.
Also it could possibly lead to a proper pre season comp where all teams had something to play for so in sense you would still have plenty of telecast games earlier in the season.

This may or may not work financially or logistically but it's just a thought of possibly having a more even draw.
