It was great to see the Australians here again. The tests weren’t the most memorable but the Australians, whether that was the players or the fans that travelled, really brought into it. The community engagement from the Australians was brilliant, they seemed to enjoy themselves and there was over 132,000 paying spectators.
Personally I’d rather see the next ashes series played down under and instead concentrate more on building up the England-new Zealand rivalry up more for the 2027 Series.

Done right (which is our problem in England), the two co-exist and build both series’ up. The NZ one is a decent one in its own right but it’s about more than just those 3 games and looking ahead to Australia a year later, whilst having tickets on sale during the NZ series, as we do reasonably well attendance wise and in terms of TV audiences. We should be looking at 140,000-150,000 over the 3 Ashes games in the UK as long as we are banging that drum whilst we have people’s attention during the NZ series.

Next ashes series I’d go with

1 test Wembley or spurs

2nd test Everton

3rd test elland rd or bramall lane

We've got to try and be progressive, I think. Whilst Tottenham is an impressive venue, we're capped at 62,000 and while that is a 1.3k increase on the crowd at Wembley from the other week, we've got to be hoping for more of an increase than that. Though we could do Tottenham at 62k and then look at Manchester City at 63k and then a Headingley/Hull/Elland Rd for the 3rd test.

Kangaroo tour to England should be played every 4 years or so. It's the crown jewel of the English calendar, but overplayed and England keep getting whitewashed it risks losing it's lustre with crowds again. I'm not convinced the reverse tour is as valuable until England gives us something to worry about.
The major tours in between Kangaroo Tour years should alternate between England/NZ and England coming to Australia.

Absolutely.

Rugby Leagues Ashes is a perfect example of less is more.

I still think another IRL owned tournament is needed between World Cups. I'm a fan of the 4 Nations returning in the same format as it was years ago.

1)If it's in the Northern Hemisphere, then 2 southern hemisphere teams go (based off the previous years Pacific Championships).
*The remaining teams compete in a test series.
*I.e, if it was next year it'd be England, Australia, New Zealand and France.

2)If it's in the southern hemisphere, 3 southern hemisphere teams and one from the northern hemisphere.

We’re not having two out of the three games outside of the heartlands. It’ll be London and each side of the Pennines. We’re blessed that Liverpool, Everton, Manchester United and Manchester City all have big stadiums, it’s just Yorkshire that is struggling behind, though Leeds United have plans to increase to 50k+, it’s probably too soon for the 2028 Ashes, though.

I think we should be using bramall lane for tests against both the Aussies and kiwis until elland rd expansion is completed.

Agreed an Ashes in Eng every 4 years. A NZ tour in England every 4 years. In between RLWC and a 6 nations down under. Its not hard!

end of year:
Year 1 Ashes England
Year 2 RLWC
Year 3 NZ 3 match series in England
Year 4 6 Nations southern hemisphere

rinse and repeat!

If we ever get a mid season window we can have Eng v PNG, Tonga or Samoa games in that space either hemisphere.

I could live with Man City as 2nd test venue as long as Everton was used for the kiwis series.

I dont think Everton is that great a stadium tbh. Location is crap and the rest of it is just like any other, but with worse toilets and bars!

NZ tests need to be in 25-30k stadiums. Better we have sell outs and create hype than half empty stadiums.

It’s a real shame that there isn’t adequate stadium options in Yorkshire especially Sheffield and Bradford but expanding elland rd to a 53k capacity will be a real game changer.

isn’t there plans to develop the area around the new Everton ground?

30k capacity stadiums at a minimum for me.

Thats just one of the issues. The other is actually getting to it. Its on the cities edge so from the motorway takes ages to get to through all the suburbs. Getting home took forever!

Not much General online info, so has it been officially confirmed whether the Kangaroos are returning to England in 2028 or are England coming here to Australia?

Supposed to be in Austraia but they may wait and see what the RLWC crowds are like. This years Ashes made a lot of money for both nations on the back of big crowds. But hey its 2028 so will no doubt have changed our minds about whats happening at least three times before then!
