Now you’re just trolling. I never said Matterson was Origin standard. I pointed out that he was a good enough NRL player to be picked in Origin. However you’ve used quote marks to dishonestly pretend I said something I didn’t.
To be honest Pou, what standard would you describe a player that was good enough to be picked in Origin?
If a player was good enough to be picked in NSW Cup you would say NSW Cup standard.
If a player was good enough to be picked in NRL you would say NRL standard.
If a player was good enough to be picked in origin you would say __________ standard?

Honestly?

Without TPAs you have to pay overs for rep level players. Think about it. The more you pay for any player, the less value he offers, because value is relative to his cost under the cap.
The corollary of that usual nothing statement, is that you don’t have rep players in the team it’s more than expected that as a club gyou will finish outside the 8 and not contest finals.

The workforce you are in must be so content, no targets to achieve and well paid. Oh you’re on the govt payroll so all good.

The front office would have failed in the industry I was in for my career, and would have replaced without doubt given their obvious lack of success.( all the finals rhetoric is irrelevant, failure to build a roster , one with no depth and lack of backs goes beyond the coach and falls to R&R , at the Eels the junior recruitment is significantly better than the NRL achieved over the last few years, fluff pieces aside )

Unless you think that everyone who plays NRL is NRL standard then you are just being dishonest, yet again. I would say anyone who plays Origin is at least NRL standard, which is my claim about Matterson. He is a genuine NRL player, and if he plays a few games in NSW Cup it's for reasons other than that he isn't good enough for the NRL. He has already proven his ability to play NRL. Selwyn Cobbo played QLD Cup this year. Are you claiming he isn't good enough for the NRL? Or might there have been another reason he was dropped?

I assume the industry you were in was about making money. Are you suggesting the Eels aren't profitable? Are they losing customers due to not winning enough games?

You have already clearly explained your point. Matto the Origin player, at a minimum NRL standard by your estimation, was dropped to reggies to push him out of the club and/or Ryles had it in for him (but nothing to do with Matto's attitude like at every other club he has been at). Matto played 7 games in reggies and Parra missed the 8 by 3 wins. This is genius 4D chess coaching by the super meta coach Rylesy. I can see now that it takes a football IQ like yours to truly see it and I thank you for sharing it with us.

Selwyn Cobbo played 5 games in QLD Cup this year. Brisbane won the comp.

So dropping NRL standard players doesn't necessarily hurt your chances of winning. As I said, it's a team game. Meanwhile the Roosters won a premiership with Matterson. He can't have been that bad. The Tigers haven't finished 9th since he left either. Genius Tigers retention. You should've kept him. Tigers finished 13th.

Isaako in the media saying he’d love to stay at the Dolphins although they are struggling to fit him in with Cobbo etc. they haven’t even given him an offer yet. I hope we are bordering on stalking charges with his agent.

I’d take him in a millisecond.

I’m surprised there have been no takers for the 16 Dogs’ players that have been free to negotiate for nearly 3 weeks. Curran, Kikau, Tracy to name a few. I reckon there will be a garage sale soon.

I think a few of them will end up out West…. They surely need to start making some signings sooner rather than later.

I still think Burton will be gone. They are going with Woods and Galvin. And have a centre on 1 mill in Crighton plus Xerri offers an excellent option and Burton ain't going to go there. He's on to much.

At this stage id even take Montoya.

There’s probably heaps of takers, and the players are enjoying the bidding war.
