DANZ will be cutting sports like traders sell stocks that aren't or don't look like performing in future..
To buy stocks that will..

The AFL'S future potential is very minimal .
I would presume that DANZ would like to free up capital to invest in something that has more potential growth opportunities... Which is the NRL.

It's pretty obvious.

The only real question is to what extent is it legal and to what extent is this brand damaging from a public perspective.

I'd say they're currently testing the waters.
All entirely speculative, based on an article from a non-rights holder looking to lower the value of their opposition's product, using anonymous quotes.

Also compares apples with oranges in terms of listing overseas codes where DAZN has cut ties.

Is that more money than annually? Be good if it was. Like subscriptions.
Same

It’s to manage their cash flow so they pay as they collect subscriptions and sponsorship

Note Fox currently only pays around 200 million pa

The new deal they will pay at least double and probably 450 million pa

Most of the increase for the tv deal will come from Fox (or Stan if they outbid them)

Monday night footy on the cards

Channel seven especially keen to bid for it on a standalone basis
At 19 teams, you can have:

Thursday night - FTA Nine or Ten

Friday night (6pm) - Streaming
Friday night (8pm) - FTA Nine or Ten

Saturday afternoon - streaming
Saturday twilight - streaming
Saturday night - streaming

Sunday afternoon (2pm)- streaming
Sunday afternoon (4pm) - FTA or streaming

Monday night - FTA Seven

Then for the 10th game you can just slot that in for 6pm Sunday night.

I watched that interview …Its actually something I’ve proposed myself a couple of times here as a way to get 7 involved …hopefully there is something real behind it …surprised he didn’t write a story about it though… he also said Kerry Stokes is gunna retire which is good news for the Bears

Why does buzz sound like he suffers from cte more than anybody else on that video?!
Going into Leagues clubs , bars ,restaurants chasing scoops and swallowing copious amount of p*ss( mostly free) for decades, does wonders for your vocal chords.

Afl lack of subscriber growth and future growth has dazn wanting to cut the Foxtel deal

This is what happens when you spend billions on the suns and giants and nobody watches them

And then get stuck adding Tasmania

The days when Rupert giving his favourite sport preferential deals are over and that sport has to deal with its poor pay numbers and lack of expansion down the track

Kayo premium going up from $40 to $45.99 in Feb just in time for footy season. Gotta fund the broadcast $$ somehow…

Amazing how positive people where about DAZN taking over.

Let's be honest, this is a shit outcome for NRL fans.
