As I predicted after the Perth test, 5-0 is still on the cards (even with the injuries players such as Lyon/Smith/Cummins have been battling, even fielding 2nd string bowlers such as Neser and Doggett, not to mention the poor form of players such as Green and Inglis).

Australia should've won by A LOT more if they played to their full potential. The Head-Carey partnership in the 2nd innings was the difference, having built a mountain too high for England to climb by the time the 6/38 batting collapse occurred yesterday morning.

Just had a look at the weather forecast. First four days of the Boxing Day Test seems good. High chance of heavy showers on day 5:

Let's hope the MCG pitch is nothing like the abomination that was dished out in 2017 (which cost the Aussies any chance of a clean sweep)

Excellent test match. Punters got their money's worth. A good message to our groundsmen to produce flatter pitches than they have been in recent times - we don't need green tops, this changed Kooka ball with pronounced seam does enough to keep an even contest

I love how we gave them hope, then yanked it away.

Perfect.
Once again, following on from the magnificent T20 shot Harry Brook attempted off Lyon yesterday, Jamie Smith also had a brain explosion of epic proportions just before the lunch break.

If Craig Bellamy was the coach of the England team, he'd be having an absolute fit at those dismissals.
