What about converting the Gabba space to a Commbank sized rectangular ground? Would that be beneficial for Dolphins or other future Brisbane sides?

Soccer is trying to get a 20k rebuild of Perry parkWhat about converting the Gabba space to a Commbank sized rectangular ground? Would that be beneficial for Dolphins or other future Brisbane sides?
The ideal situation would be for all three to use Suncorp and aim to eventually fill it. Brisbane doesn't need to copy the model that Sydney does.No. Redcliffe is out of the way for most of Brisbane. Same with Ipswich. Both would do well with a lower capacity ground locally and the bigger games at Suncorp.
And it shouldn’t.Brisbane doesn't need to copy the model that Sydney does.

LoL.
That shit is being flogged off to developers faster than you can say dodgy Construction company.
This now opens up the Gabba site to be redeveloped into the new entertainment center
100%And it shouldn’t.
isn't the latest plan to build the new entertainment centre over the top of the new Gabba train station? I remember reading a very small snippet about it and it seemed "official" enough but it should have occupied a lot more space in the article and seemed to be a bit brushed over for such an important announcement .It’s for the new entertainment center.
Yep, that side of Main St has definitely been under consideration as well.isn't the latest plan to build the new entertainment centre over the top of the new Gabba train station? The current BEC at Boondall is such a relic of a bygone era for a plethora of reasons, the location is absolutely rubbish other than having the M1 nearby however, if you need to use it you need to be aware which area to park because at the end of an event you can only access said motorway from certain parking areas.... building the new one near the Gabba will be a game changer.Yep, that side of Main St has definitely been under consideration as well.
A few issues with plonking a structure that big over hollow ground. Gabba site equally posing issues (more so with time frames) in demolition and building the structure in time.
While the logistics and locations make sense (to me at least) ie stadium, entertainment center, waterpark locations etc. The critical planning has been a shit show.
Jarrod Bleijie wouldn’t know the first thing about development of infrastructure yet he serves as minister for it.
100% you’re correct on both points. The current BEC at Boondall is such a relic of a bygone era for a plethora of reasons, the location is absolutely rubbish other than having the M1 nearby however, if you need to use it you need to be aware which area to park because at the end of an event you can only access said motorway from certain parking areas.... building the new one near the Gabba will be a game changer.

That is gone. They tendered out a new entertainment centre/district where the Gabba is to private enterprise in true Lib fashion and help underwrite that.
I believe you and @beave are talking about the same thing here.![]()
Brisbane Live Construction at Woolloongabba Could Commence by End of 2026
Brisbane Live is now back in the frame for the 2032 Olympics, with Queensland Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie confirming the 17,000 seat arena would play a role in the Games, despite being removed from the formal government delivery plan earlier this year.brisbanedevelopment.com.au
Not sure what more you want. If you want to google it. You can see Roma St was cancelled and this is what is happening. They just want private money to build it. Thus the expressions of interest they have up currently for developers to bid on it.
Go back and look what I originally typed, I never said a word about Roma St station in my comment, you literally posted up a link that echoed/backed up what i said that the new one being built over the top/next to the new Gabba Station..........![]()
