how toronto was originally setup by perez was sustainable he had a great passion and belief in rugby league. it wasnt until he left and the aussie guy tried to rush the plan they became a basket case and if covid never hit, i believe he lucks his way through. i have bee to lamport with 8-10k people there, the events were run really well there.
if eric was there at the end the wolfpack were only meant to be in the championship so would have had a better chance of getting throgh covid
There was a Canadian who joined one of the English forums and fell in love with the game I was following his posts

By the time they got in super league there were quite a few Canadians posting on theire

With the nrl in Vegas and potentially a rlwc in America it’s a huge stuff up

Best we can hope for is super league just becomes stable and leaves it to the nrl to develop the game in non traditional markets

A pro league in France is what the arl should be working on

The French would work with the Aussies to make it work the English won’t too much

English don’t have the patience or money for expansion

Super League could’ve had ottowa and Toronto in there but they chose Leigh instead

When it was looking like ottowa Toronto and nyc could one day be in super league English posters on forums were getting worried it would mean less places for English teams

Toronto started in league one

Won that competition got promoted to the championship and won that comp

It’s like you just make stuff up and ignore what happened

Hull kr without a tv grant aren’t a viable club

If Toronto has been treated like hull kr or any English club they would still be around

When Covid hit hull kr got covid funding Toronto didn’t

Hull kr had tv money Toronto didn’t
Clueless
Hkr got covid funding from uk govt, which had to be paid back. Uk govt werent going to fund a foreign team!
hull kr played for many years without tv mOney in second and third divisions. dumb statement.
Difference is when rovers got relegated and didnt have tv funding we rebuilt to being a championship SL club. When toronto couldnt fulfil fixtures they turned down the offer of readmission in championship and gave up.
the difference between hull kr and Toronto was one was built on a hundred years of rl history and one was built on a pack of cards That collapsed at the first gust of wind.

Toronto built without tv money in league one and champ or the minimal funding hull kr got

In super league they got nothing and had to pay travel costs both of which hiull kr don’t

Your club would be losing over 3 million pounds a year if they were being treated like Toronto

That’s how you guys do expansion.

And they had no money for Toronto but when Leigh replaced them they got a million pounds of central money

lol

But at least you were able to learn from Toronto’s game day experience to improve your club

Proof of the pudding.
one club is triple SL champjons
other one is an amateur club cobbling together fixtures.

So what is stopping these clubs setting up a North American Rugby League?
Thy have no revenue. Without the support of England they’ve got no hope. That’s the reality, as much as Wb likes to delusionally believe different.
and the cold hard fact is the RFL simply doesnt have the money to prop up non viable clubs in other countries that generate no revenue for the competition.

Aren't the Chinese (or any other non-aligned country) threatening to invade America and Canada so Albo can send over 600m to each to fund a few league teams?

So bears = hull kr because it has similar hundred years of rl history and Perth reds = Toronto because it was also built on a pack of cards that collapsed.

Hard to understand how you have a mindset like the post you posted here but at the same time have continually disregarded bears and to an extent still do.

what a complete and utter stooge you are lol

Perthwrongs just doesn’t get it. Only ever sees things one way and fights tooth and nail over that wrong belief. So much more is happening, or has happened which is always shrugged off.

Investors have gone

They treated argyle like crap after he invested 20 million into the Wolfpack

Perez took his money and bought a lower level soccer club in England

Imagine there’s someone who wants to invest 20 million into rugby league but the English game didn’t embrace him with open arms

Crazy

The funniest thing is hull kr copied torontos game day experience by having a fan section down one end with food and beer

You could see on Twitter the demographic of their fans was different to normal league clubs

Lots of women old and young

They loved the craft beer tents and the dj before and after games

Yeah but none of that fits old mates narrative

he will just say that the game day set up was in the works 15 years prior to wolfpack doing it but wolfpack beat them to the punch. There’s always an excuse with him

If you're giving grant to clubs better to do it in places with potentially bigger reward. London, Toronto, Paris .not Sheffield, Newcastle..
Yeah but heritage legacy yadda yadda. Gotta make sure money keep history alive! Of course this is only good for when it concerns a shit heap town like hull but when it’s north Sydney, it’s disregarded by him quickly lol

Exactly, house of cards, One whiff and its all gone. How many times will we do it in SL before realising that the game simply cannot afford these fanciful whims? Lets see how London lasts, this time.
When the game is flush with cash and can afford to prop up these pipe dreams then great. Wales would be where Id spend the games money. Best chance of developing players and adding to international scene.

Hull kr aren’t viable without their owner

You make it sound like people are asking for the rfl to spend millions on expansion

In torontos case it was just to get some tv money

Which they managed to find for the club that replaced them

Torontos crowd average would’ve been bigger than Leigh’s anyway

When there was talk of multiple Canadian teams your countrymen were all complaining their clubs could miss out on super league

It’s that selfish attitude I’m talking about

London were in super league for a very long time before too
