I hate this dropping of a good player to reserve grade because he signed elsewhere, it's a brain dead notion that is counter productive to what the main side wants to achieve.

That fool Jason Ryles did it this year, he dropped talented Dylan Brown to reserve grade and put the totally inept park footballer Dean Hawkins in his place. The Eels went like busteds as Hawkins was even worse than when he played for us.

Ryles eventually woke up and brought Brown back, ditched Hawkins and they won a few games.

No, we need Keaon to play NRL in 26 and not promote some inadequate replacement just because he's moving on in 27.

Ile go even further the past 5+ years of recruitment has been a total disaster and borders on insanity Russell crowe needs to put a broom right thru our top management from our ceo down they are all inept.russell crowe needs to give richo a call for starters and also get Sam burgess back on the first grade coaching staff alongside bennett if not I can't see prem #22 happening for many many years.

I think he wanted to test the market. And he’s not worth what they are paying him. He would be the 4th 1 million player on our books if we paid that money. There’s about 14-15 $1 million players in the comp. And we would have over 25% of them .
That’s not how you win a comp.

he lacks eye of the tiger, can play but only when it suits him. If he wanted to win a comp, he’ll have to do it this year because he wont at his new club

the only dissapointing thing about the whole thing is that he is a junior, he knows the culture and the fan base and yet he chose to leave for money

2026 KK is going to be very interesting.
2025 was a contract year and he was lean and performed quite well.
Now that he's secured his bag, will he slack off for the bunnies or will he try and play hard again.
I love the player and wish him all the best, but I'm not confident we'll see a focused KK this year.

I hope bennett pulls a bunny out of his hat and finds a similar replacement asap surely there is a rising prop already at souths that benny can nurture.there are already a couple of young and a couple of middle aged props at souths that have not played top grade for souths as yet hopefully one of them comes to fruition in 2026.
