Dally M's seemed to have disappeared before the 1970's. First branded steeden I could find was in 1970 ashes. It's acknowledged that steeden became official ball of nswrl comp in 1973, but mitre was used in many games in 1976 for some reason.
Really, I'm a queenslander so it might explain it. The steden was the official ball though unless i was dreaming.
Was there any other years other than 76 that the dally m ball was used?

Nope. Was last used in 1964 looking at old images. Steeden seemed to have rights to produce dally m balls by 1970, but the only instance I've found was that footy card from 1976. You're from Brisbane. Do you know anything about Sportmaster footballs?! Manufacturer on football is "Luke : Brisbane"?

Just for curiosity Pipp, why the interest. Are you trying to buy a franchise?

I must be part on spectrum I think lol. Just interested because reading old magazines and newspapers I found out dally m was official ball from 1930's to 1960's. Kinda forgotten story of rugby league.

This was before TV was invented hahaha
Me being the youngest of 6 kids I feel for the youngest in the photo.
To save water in drought areas, bath water was ofter used by all and clothes were handed down from the eldest.
Just think of the soup that the last bath was to wash in, only to get dressed afterwards into clothes that were ragged.
