Why not take the penalty goal straight in front basically 42m out for the 50.
Berrell did this last year in trial when a field goal to win and went left

Watch the difference when Brailey comes off how disjointed the attack will get.
Berrell won't pass until he stands up and looks, he needs to change that.
Nikora looks more switched on, he might knock the incumbent out Burns
Aged like milk. Berrell was a million times better this week

I like what MG can add with the ball. Fast feet, electric over 20 metres, but defensively is all at sea.
His reads are poor. But his contact and attempt at contact are weak.
He looks like he is actively trying to not make a tackle

Nicho and Trindall both played like a 6 and both played like a 7. Hybrid role on either side of the ruck together.
Having Brailey Hynes and Trindall plus kennedey is tough to defend when all together

Geez the mood and expectations are slightly more positive compared to the last one.

Its only a trial. Nah Some good combos were on display today, against a weak Canberra side. I reckon the Milk will be on again this season though, so many experts keeping them out of the 8.

I’m looking forward to seeing how H.Puru progresses this year - I’ve been impressed with him in every game he’s played. He’s a natural footballer - could be a nice point of difference on a 6-man bench.
We were playing against nuffies, so just like last week, gotta take everything with a pinch of salt, but I liked how direct we played in that first half. That direct power running creates opportunities for those offloads, and creates time and space for Brailey and out wide.

Only thing that confused me about our trials is using Sifa on the edge in both games.

I know it’s mainly about minutes in legs but with the new 6 man bench I thought his days where limited in covering an edge through the season.

With Burns next up with some better quality rookie edges in HH and Lavender showing more promise than our rookie backrowers have the past few years.
Also think Pep would do a decent job on the edge 2.

Its nice having some depth for a change.

Agreed.
He was great again yesterday.
He's definitely on the team sheet every week for me.

From my 6 man bench, if all are fit, I’m using 2 big lads, Sifa and Puru most weeks (not taking into account injuries etc). There might be certain games where we need something slightly different, but in general, I think that gives us some real impact.
Whichever 2 big lads we use, the middle rotation is good and strong, then Sifa brings an element of pure smashing the door down (with a bit of skill), and Puru offers something totally different - unconventional, awkward, seems to read the game and anticipate the space well and deceptively quick aswell. I can’t think of many better bench rotations in the league. Unfortunately though, as I said last week, once we dip below our best 19, we’re in a bit of strife.
