Maybe Nate he’s angry because we’ve got the better squad this season.

The young smug marquee are becoming Tigers.

Our vision of having the entire Penrith operation as some kind of defacto wests tigers player catchment is coming to fruition.

Yep, Penrith is our new junior pathways 2 area.
Ivan thought the ride would last forever.

Im not stranger to giving this team a kick up the ass. But, since Lee/Pascoe left, I'll give some credit to the powers that be for massively improving the football department side of things. I think people forget how dire things were under Lee/Pascoe. Our roster was MILES behind the rest of the comp under them. Credit to Richo/Benji for getting a lot right with their recruitment while being in a very tough spot.

The job is not done though. I don't think we are finals ready......but Im certainly happy with management after Pascoe / Lee. I like the path our club is going in football-wise. Hopefully, the board tow the line and John Cougar does a good job as CEO.

I think we are finals ready, not sure how deep we will progress this year though.
But we have to start sometime.
I think we have forgotten what finals look like, but we are pretty solid across the park, and finally with good depth.
Obviously, like all teams, a lot depends on the spine, which ain't too shabby.

I think we don't have any real big flaws in our team. At the same time there are a lot of good teams in the comp.

I'm concerned with our spine but if they click they'll be great. The problem is that is a big if. Api, AD and based on last weeks performance Bula are concerns. We really need all 3 of them to perform to a high level. They all have it in them though.

I love though that we have a game plan that can score points when we need it. Give it to the left edge and unleash Makasini.

Just remember this....it was not all that long ago when our best performing back was Junior Tupou. We have moved forward.

Its a shame Junior will likely never live up to his potential. Ive heard off the field he's the quietest, shyest guy youll ever meet. In hindsight he probably wishes he never left as he seemed comfortable with us and was starting to play some great footy, then took a big $ deal at the Fins and never looked the same.

Tupou made some incredible blunders. I remember that much . Some were like wow! a mental flaw?.. I guess the fins didn’t see those or disregarded them.

I will add, that Benji needs to work his bench better IMO, putting players in the 17 and not using them is silly.

The bench changes this season so it'll be interesting. I think there are 6 reserves and 2 won't be used every game.

I think he has since moved on to the Roosters.
Yea ..and that was Bennett that grabbed him for the fins too. I think they were desperate to fill that spot(seriously) at that moment in time. And this year the roosters. I mean he’s definately got something ..and was prob one of our best

We'll see soon, but I'm worried about getting dominated in the ruck, we still need a another quality middle

I'm not that worried. We had May, Royce and Kit out in that trial against Penrith and we were fine. Admittedly it's only one game and it's a trial. The real issue is how we hold up over the course of the season.

I think the one middle who has really impressed out of nowhere is Charlie Murray. Ethan Roberts may also be able to play a role somewhere.

Every year we show warranted signs for optimism but then get flogged several times.
Let's see how we're going mid season before we get too excited.
I'd be happy to keep in touch with a better points differential than previous years.
We have a more balanced side to that of last year but still have some grey areas that I'm sure this will get exploited.

Goals for this year?
Im thinking if we aim for a positive fore and against we make 8.
Lets get through the season with a positive +/- and not get bitch slapped in any games.

Top 8 or Bust, our squad is good enough and the draw is better then last year. Our first 6 rounds are all winnable games, we have to be a minimum 3 wins, preferably 4. I feel this squad will be a very confidence based one, if we start the year with some wins we'll have a good year.
