Have we rolled over ? The NRL is yet to decide how this will eventuate, and from what I can gather, no decision has been made.
It doesn’t matter…they now know that Parramatta are no longer the whipping boys of the NRL…whatever happens from here will cream on the cake, along with fkng Lomax around and teaching him a couple of life long lessons, I’m very comfortable with the action of the club, we can’t whinge at how soft we’ve been over the years in regards to NRL’s double standards to say the very least…..let’s take the merkins far as we can, finally our nuts have dropped!!!

You would think now with Lomax and also Barnett that this would be a perfect time for the NRL to sit down with the RLPA and come up with a trade system...

Have a windows lets day novemembwr and then February...
With Barnett he wants to be traded to a side close to family then his manager should be reaching out to those clubs and organising a trade that the warriors agree with..
I think Barnett may return to the knights

In relation to Abdo and PVL, fact is, so far, to us the general public we have no idea what they have done in relation to this. We are relying on media reports, and let's face it, many reporters put their interpretation into what happened which may be at variance with what actually happened. I suspect it will come out in the court hearings.
Monday could be very interesting. It could be (in relation to this at least) they are squeaky clean and then the below is on the cards.
In relation to "trades", it won't get off the ground mainly because the legal system here is not like in the USA where trades happen because you can trade a player's contract from one organisation to another. From the (admittedly) very little I know about employment law here in Australia, that is not permitted.
The US employment/contract law system isn’t going to be too different from our own. At the heart they’re going to very near identical.
The key is the CBA. While employment (or a lot of other) contracts aren’t normally assignable, CBAs can provide ability to do so. There’s many a problem in getting that across the line though and chief among that will be RLPA will want more dollars, which is understandable because trades run the risk of playing for Canberra one week then off to PNG the following with little to no recourse.

CBA. But the AFL also highlights a shortcoming in an NRL trade system. The AFL also has a draft, whereas currently the only things NRL teams could trade are players and cash

We can never have a draft with the way we do our junior systems.

Only way is if you are off contract come November you can go into the draft. So no age limit..
Then it also brings in the trade as if you dont want to end up in the draft you come to your team and do a sign and trade to the team you want to go to..

The AFL don’t have other codes looking to sign players either domestically or overseas, so they just inhabit their own little pond and basically the players won’t challenge anything as they have nowhere else to go.

Been that way since the draft was challenged in Rugby League, Bleak City rules and all that.

I think the AFL has some type of agreement that they'll cover all contracts.
Also I don’t think a player will be drafted to a club he doesn't want to be at.
I believe theses are the reasons their draft never gets tested in court.

In the case where Terry Hill took the draft to court I think he was drafted to a club he didn't want to go to. I can't remember the club. I think he wanted to go to West but.

Storm now playing the poor Lomax card, he’s suffering mentally and physically. If he honoured his contracts maybe he wouldn’t the In such a state, and of course a club trying to take advantage comes up with this.

PVL needs to be very careful, sob story rubbish.
It is a disgraceful position Melbourne have put him in. They should do the right thing by him.

Agree, Clinton Schitcofske has a lot to answer for in all this.
He’s just trying to get the best deal for his client.

It’s Zac who has to do all the emotional heavy lifting. He’s the one in therapy.

I’m blaming BA for signing him up.

The storm should subpoena his sorry arse and drag him back to Australia to give evidence of the deal.

Meanwhile a huge pyre of player contracts are going up in smoke all over our great game.

Good point on lack of competition. Probably entwines the league and the players closer which would make trade/draft systems easier to agree upon

This amount of stress would knock a few years off his life expectancy I imagine.
Probably barely sleeping or eating. We are breaking him down Mentally.
