Cause he has a limited earning window, and as a union player he won't be great. That's not his skillset. Really doesn't matter. Seems like they are coming to an agreement soon, so we will see that outcome shortly with the news articles coming out. Lomax fest is coming to a close.

West Tigers will be back on the menu.
It’s not limiting his earning ability

He wanted to go to union that’s available to him

Plus if he thought it was onerous he shouldn’t have signed it

He literally had a highly paid lawyer to explain this to him if he was too stupid to understand what he was doing and a manager

There’s a meeting anyway between eels and storm to solve it before court

It's got nothing to do with the Eels and I don't dislike them, I enjoy watching them having a longer period now between their first premiership than their last one. Keep on eeling.

What is happening is that most people's dislike of Lomax, which is why people are having trouble taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture. PVL wants the best players to play in the NRL, as most of us should. Even if he made a poor choice with R360. As well as ignoring that what Parra are asking of him is impossible for him to deliver (player in return). I don't particularly like Lomax, and wouldn't want him at the Bulldogs, but he is better than the average winger so I can understand why clubs would be chasing him.
So, are you comfortable with the court ruling on this matter which could move close to open slathers because he’s a good player. The worry should be there’s a can of worms so to speak on the horizon, and the Storm are in it up to their ears. They don’t do anything which doesn’t provide them with benefits, most don’t like Lomax, Storm and are very wary on the motives of PVL ( favouring the Storm for tv reasons) . Let’s hope there is s decision that underlines the sanctity of contracts, it’s a worry otherwise.

It won't get to a court ruling. But if it was getting a ruling Parra is losing it. As I've said, it's limiting his earning capacity and all he can offer is money. What he can get in Union is actually much less than League. Cause an Australian judge will ONLY consider what he can earn in Australia.

How is going to Union not limiting his earning capacity? Unless you play for the national team in Australia, your wages are very limited. You only have to compare the size of Union squads and the salary cap of $4mil aus dollars to understand that. He has no guarantee of making the Wallabies with a total lack of Union experience. And overseas Union contracts don't count in Australian court.

But I've already said multiple times, they will not allow a judge to rule on this, an agreement will be reached. This is just to force it all to that point.

It doesn't matter what they earn. An Australian court will not consider any offer like that only ones in Australia. Not sure why you all throw out that money when it's irrelevant in this instance. All he has to say is that he wants to stay close to family in Australia and any offer from overseas doesn't matter. Yeah you can point to R360 and say he was willing to do then, but he can say the situation changed personally. And that's all that matters.

"Top 4% are big earners"..

If there are counting all 3 divisions, that means 16 players max are earning what the top 3 in each NRL squad is earning.. that's 51 players

I'll repeat, the top 16 players in Japan each earn around the same as each of the top 51 players in the NRL earn...

And the NRL pay is about to go up1000006486.png

Pvl has done so many amazing things he’s allowed to be wrong on the Lomax thing and even then he’s doing it cause he thinks it’s in the games interest

The crowd and tv ratings for Vegas were stunning

At a time when tourism to Vegas is down close to 8 percent

And Lomax is getting his wish

How could you credit anything he says. On his form, he'll say the opposite tomorrow. Trump-esque.

Ah so the proof is that Parra are holding him to a condition he has no control over. The requirement for a different player is one that he can't do. Just so we are on the same page. But go look at the news, I believe they are coming to an agreement, so we will see the details soon. Probably can't play against Parra next week.

Is that what the contract says? Fairly sure he signed the contract I could be wrong though..

If PVL really wants the best players in the game then open up his wallet.. Lots of good players in union.

Yep even though I dont agree with PVL on his new stupid hairstyle it doesn't mean he hasn't done a bloody great job building up the NRL..

Next he will be buying into the ESL and turning that game into a profit growing the game even more.

Maybe it's time the NRL introduces a transfer window.

I hope he can get into the ESL. God knows they need to invest in pathways, make the ESL closed shop again. Allow ESL teams to use the Championship as feeder teams. Basic things that would help the game.

It's 50/50 whether they adapt. It we really wanted to go down that path. I'd just be allowing one Union player for 2yrs outside the salary cap. If they make it at that point they should come into the salary cap. This allows us to look for a few more players like that every couple of years, or even every year cause I'm sure most would be signed as a one year plus one in the clubs favour, if they don't work out, they would be gone pretty quickly.

It's also something the ESL should be looking at, but I don't think the money is in the game to do that at the moment. But they need a serious addition of talent. Maybe some loan agreements with NRL clubs could help. NRL gets a benefit to getting some extra developing talent having a year or two in the ESL playing against men, while the ESL will get some skilled younger players and potentially NRL clubs paying those salaries with the ESL clubs providing costs. Every NRL club has those sorts of guys, who just need some extra experience and they have no chance of playing NRL level, while they only qualify for NSW/QLD Cup level.

This could be a win win scenario.
