Cause that's the easiest ground to get to for both sets of supporters. Bulldogs fans would travel in droves to a game there as well. Sharks and Manly would need to accept that it's the home ground most likely used for finals for both teams, so making it a second home ground is just a natural fit.

I doubt they care about “making it easy “ for the opposition fans … they are trying to accommodate more of their own fans

I think the point still stands, that without raking in the corporates, and entry prices to get into the ground requiring membership, I see membership costs rising and you are locking out loads of fans who don't want to commit to that level. So a couple of event type games at a larger stadium ticks the boxes for the more casual fan. If they don't want to tap into that, it's on them. I'm sure other clubs are more than accommodating to take them.

The 2 points is the ultimate goal still at the end of the day and should trump a couple of extra hundred thousand on the gate that they might get from playing Roosters over say Souths … that’s how I think they will play it anyway

Hopefully with people being unable to get tickets or priced out of Broncs game the dolphins will get a crowd boost

Problem is only going to get worse even if Suncorp goes to 61k that’s years away

By the time Suncorp does get upgraded to 61k it will be too small for them still

ESpecially if they win another premiership
Is it too late to try and lobby for the new stadium in Victoria Park to have rectangular configurations? Similar to what happened with Accor Stadium but in reverse.

As we know a lot of them wont travel South of the Spit Bridge.
Given the traffic from spit bridge to Allianz I can’t blame them.

Ferry from manly, train from circular quay to. Central then light rail isn’t much better

Brookie should be upgraded. They were getting more sellouts than Penrith who just got 308 million for a new stadium

Oh i agree Brookie needs a major upgrade, the new stand at the Northern End was a good start but the whole grand stands along the Western side need replacing, that would lift the capacity then have it wrap around to the southern end, keep the hill for the mean time till these were completed. Trouble though it is council owned so really going to need private investment to bring it along and i don't see that happening.

It will certainly be capable of hosting sports played on a rectangular field, but don't hold your breath for moveable seating or a proper rectangular mode. Even with ~10k additional capacity I can't see many event organisers preferring Victoria Park over Suncorp, view will be terrible from most seats.

Friday night looks to be a bit wet unfortunately.
Sunday looks even worse. I was going to comment that ticket sales were looking promising for the Phins with Level 5 starting to go on sale, but those weather predictions are likely to see pre-sales slow down.

Wet weather on Saturday in Sydney will likely hurt both Brookvale & Shark Park.

Storm crowds will be an interesting one to watch this year, they've been building up these last few years and now they've had a record 30k memberships before round 1. Their first few games should have large crowds, first up Parra tonight in a new rivalry and opening game, then they have the GF rematch against Brisbane at home in round 3 and then Warriors at home in round 6. I can see them getting 25k to each of those if not a sellout or two, so they could be off to a large average to start the year.

Would love to see attendance culture keep ramping up for the Storm and becoming another Warriors where every game is basically a sellout - it is achieavable for them.

Suncorp is known for it's drainage. Would take a whole lot more than 25mm in a day to cause issues. May somewhat be effecting sales/walkup though. Showing up to 50mm on BOM for Sunday now. Other models showing higher. At least Suncorp has better coverage than Kayo.
Very hard to predict the Weather in Brisbane this time of year. I've had many days with lots of rain forecast and hardly a drop and vis versa.
