Lack of completion, leads to

Paulo 39 tackles
Smith 41 tackles
Hopgood 46 tackles
Williams 43 tackles
JDB 45 tackles

Ridiculous amount of tackles! Leads to the score blowing out!
To be fair, guys like this should be able to make those tackles per game, the way the game is played these days.

Poor use of bench - and poor quality of starting and bench players is the issue here.

Also the service from both Ryley and TDS was worse than some of the under 12s footy ive watched. Both of our dumm halves seemed to regress in many many ways. Even Ryleys defence was disappointing today.
If Ryley was any good he'd still be a Panther

This is where I think we're a long way off being competitive with the likes of Panthers, Storm, Roosters, Brisbane, heck even Cronulla. They look the goods for a while then go back to the same skeletons, just switching off, doing stupid errors, playing like theyre not interested. Some of the teams above have that system, most of the time theyre mentally switched on. This team still hasnt got the mental toughness and I dont know when they'll get that level. Honestly tonight was the most disgraceful performances in a long time. I could probably cop the Round 1 loss last year, a lot young guys, inexperienced, rebuilding. Tonight I saw absolutely NOTHING to suggest they'll be better or even make the 8. The more experienced players were a huge let down, its like they never prepared for this team.

Only player I would pay after tonight is Iongi.

And I wouldn’t pay Ryles either for that bonehead decision to bring Joash on for 7 mins meaning we then couldn’t use Tuivati. Absolute insane decision with zero intelligence used.

Well that was shit.

Failed to to see the flogging coming and refused to go back to basics, hold the f**king ball and try and work some possession to limit the damage.

Poor coaching/leadership for mine, heads needed pulling in, now we start the season way behind the eight ball.
It's onfield leadership. I don't think coaching has anything to do with it.

It's always worthwhile to remain positive but at this point I'm wondering if I'm just polishing a turd.
We have a bad roster. I thought we had an average roster but that was just pre-season optimism. It is a bad roster. I think only Iongi, Moses and Fox are top 8 standard players.

I thought that too at first. But what happens if Iongi is ruled out?

We would have had 2 players out of position for 50 or so mins (the player playing fb and the player replacing them, eg if Moses or Russell goes to FB, who replaces them?)

It's a tough call. It's probably the low risk move as we can cover Sammy's mins easier.
It was the end of the contest. They were always going to get to 50 after that decision.
