Interesting that patea has dropped off the bench. I wonder if he a niggling injury. His trial form was poor.

haha I am very late to this post, i didn’t refresh and was thinking to myself I wonder why no one is talking about patea haha I’m always 3 steps behind

Can only assume patea is injured..

If ivan was going to drop him for trail form why name him in the squad in the first place and just be wasting a spot...

The fact cole is still in the squad and cogger and lussick and milky makes me think maybe tago is carrying a niggle and ivan is toying with alamonti to centre and milky to wing or cole to centre.

We really are a forward short though.

If the bench is cogger, paps, going, phillips and we cop a cat 1 hia to a forward in the forst 5mins we will have no forwards in the 19 to bring in..

If theres one knock on ivans coaching over the years i think we can all say his bench rotations arent his strong suit.

With the new rules this year he really needs to nail it and his choices this week havent inspired me with confidence.

Unless Tago is on the bench as a forward

If patea was injured why would you waste naming a guy on the bench who was never gonna play,i hope we dont make the same mistake parra did last night. They played 4 small guys and got rolled off there bench.Id assume papalii will play prop off the bench.

If that was the plan youd think we mightve seen a bit of it in the trials.

If hes there because we lack 2nd row options this early in the year and with only martin out thats concerning.

Guess well see what happens but ivan certainly needs to nail the squad and bench options this year and even if we win tonight youd have to seriously question whether naming a backs heavy bench is the right idea when most hias are forwards

Who knows, there was a pretty strong rumour circulating that Tago had been dropped to the bench. I’m just throwing it out there as an option.

Not my usual Tago "hate" but it makes sense for the balance of the side.

I think that straight up, milky and PA are playing better footy.

Huge night for PA, I assume he’ll be in the centres and defensively needs to be strong. It’s my only worry about him.

Well, well, well. Many of you folks were spot on re Tago. I don't think the bloke is happy ATM. Will he move on. I think possibly Ivan has lost patience with him and I don't blame him. Cause at the moment he's not playing up to his price tag.

Was the mail during the week from peter land that tago was injured or that he was going to be dropped? Again if he was going to be dropped and was fit why did they waste a spot on fonua in the squad... seems braindead.

Kinda same with patea. If hes fit and was never going to pick him seems very strange.

Anyway excited to see how PA goes at centre and how phillips goes..

Very tough game tonight especially missing a few key blokes..

Milky might just play Centre as a straight swap as per team sheet. Not saying that’s how they roll, but how it’s listed .

So Ivan has lot patience with Tago after Penrith not even playing a game yet?

Interesting to see who plays centre.

I'm keen to see how Jenkins handles it. I wanted to see it last year when we were having problems on the edges. Its Staggs or Shibasaki who are a good test for any centre.
