Pezet and Mitch together is going to take some work to gel as they are both used to being dominant playmakers. That benefits us when Mitch is off the field.

Can you point me to a game in which Pezet was the "dominant playmaker"?

They played in two grand finals without Dearden.

Because it was a no win situation. He develops well then the Broncos get the benefit, he goes shit then he is just filling the space Joash should be filling. Just a poor decision either way.

In 2022, when Pezet was captain-coach of the Matraville Marauders under 23's division 3 team.

And if he's average, which was always the most likely outcome? This is the problem with fans of anything, including rugby league. Everything is either amazing or shit.

It definitely is a fascinating phenomenon, where fans of sports teams see black, or white, and nothing in between.

It's compounded, I think, when teams have been lacking success on the field for prolonged periods of time.

The only player on our side that I can think of who would defended a teammate is Luca Moretti, and he wasn't playing.

Actually, Guymer would probably, as well.

Paulo isn't the type.

Williams isn't the type.

Neither are Kautoga, De Bellin, Hopgood...

I suppose this is what people mean when they say we need a "forwards leader" - a player who will galvanise our forward pack.

On Pezet he didn’t get the support from his team mates so I cant really be annoyed at him..

We had players with a lot more experience doing just dumb shit all game.

We dont have a forward leader if anyone watched the Panfers game last night Lindsay Smith was smashing players in defence and working hard in attack.
We have no one like that in our NRL squad.

He is a fullback. Dogs apparently thought about turning him into a 9. No talk about 5/8.
I think he can fill in at 6 if an injury but not 1st choice. Id happily have him at 14 over TDS

Plenty of merkins were pissed we only signed him for a year.

I think people were pissed because he clearly still needs time to develop (he can be really good). A longer term deal means he could realise his potential at the club. However a one year loan deal means hes going to use a good portion of this year figuring it out. If were going to use this year to let him do that why wouldnt we just do that with joash or lorenzo which is what i was bitching about when the one year deal happened.

Never played a full season first grade but people acting like he was going to win us games or elevate us into top 6 which is ridiculous. Invest our time and effort into our youth who are here long term is my belief. Its how other teams in many sports grow to become long term dominant clubs for short term pain. I think pezet would make a good back up for moses tho if we did elevate Lorenzo but i doubt he wouldve come to play reserve grade
