Ref and Bunker Decisions

Watching the Easts/Wahs game whilst at the pub so wasnt watching closely. Penalty/set restart counts arent meant to be even however I'd be surprised if many games can justify a 11-2 penalty count one way. 2021 was the worst season of viewing I've ever seen so no idea why we've suddenly gone back to those rules. Haven't even finished round 1 and already feeling grim about the season ahead.

You reckon they were both correct decisions?
The Jenkins one was correct, problem is they call those type of knock backs as knock ons 99 times out of 100. The Casey Mclean one they did call as knock on also wasn't, but it was consistent with how they usually rule.

I didn't see the other one, but if it made Sobbo cry then I'm all for it. Yay bunker.

Can somebody please tell me I am not going mad? Watching Sharks/Titans and in about the fifth minute there was a review for a Sharks try and I could swear I heard the video ref say that he confirmed the onfield ruling of "not out"?

Yep. We need an NRL rule/statement that the benefit of doubt goes to the attacking team with knock on calls. It has to be definitely propelled forward toward opponents try line. Flat is not a knock on. The call against Parra that cost them their review was ridiculous as well.

There's no way these refs in the bunker can be that incompetent. Can there? No person with eyes can look at that and say it went backwards.

I think it's time to get rid of the bunker refs. They're a blight in the game.

People don't watch rugby league to see them make their dopey, crooked decisions which completely change the momentum in games.

It was certainly a strange decision to sin bin McClean nearly a set and a half after the incident. If it was so bad why wasnt there complaints from the dogs players at the time?, and why didnt they go back to give a penalty?
The grade 2 was only to try and protect the bunker from criticism for a s...t decision!

Question - what is wrong with disrupting a catcher? Why is this a thing? This isn't golf or tennis.

As long as the attacker doesn't physically take out the catcher, baulk all you like. Weird.
