He was incredibly poor yesterday..

Slow to marker. No tough carries. Didnt really go looking for the ball. Very limited involvement but was blowing hard and played limited mins..

As i said, ale and crosby were much better.. ale is your standard kind of prop, hits the line hard. Like moses.

Crosby is different in a way. He sort of has a bit of speed and a step. He certainly doesnt hit the line hard, but he seems to use his footwork speed to position his body in between defenders than he uses his power to get post contact meters. And he did that well. He had several strong carries where he powered 15m+ carrying 3+ defenders..

Patea needs to do the hard yards in cup for half a year by the looks of it and probably should be doing extras at training if he wants to get back into the nrl team.

Sounds like he didn't put in during pre-season.

Seems like the rumours of Patea being shopped might be true. Its a shame because our bench could do with that type of prop

Wed be crazy to shop him around.. he is incredibly young for a prop.

Hes played double the games at a younger age then both henry and smith combined did. Henry didnt really crack the team till mid 22. Smith was 22 when he started playing regularly.

Luron has already played 16 games and wont turn 22 till after the season.. another full year in cup with a few nrl games here and there is not a bad thing..

Props take longer to build up their bodies and maintain the fitness required for nrl.

He clearly has talent. Weve seen it. Just needs to build up the motor.

I remember Tagos first go round in nsw cup, he was incredible we havent had anyone perform that well consistently in cup since then. If tago doesnt carve up some cup games soon then cut our losses, something has gone wrong with his development.

At the end of the day, if it comes down to keeping Tago or Casey when contracts are up then it’s a no brainer. I think both are off contract at the end of 2028.
Gets interesting if it's Tago and Alamoti v Casey.
Paul is currently our second best back with as high a ceiling as McLean imo

U see him in flegg for dogs, he was a beast. I saw the shortball on instagram comparing makasini to Paul the other day and he even said how similar their flegg highlights were he even paul looked better. Not saying that means anything but you already know how much talk there is about how good makasini there is.

Mclean could become as good and influential Crighton/Too. Alamoti I think could be very good but I dont see him at that level personally

It’s Alamoti right now.

So on the bloke in the bar podcast they brought up Tagos not liking surgery or protein powder etc and it’s hard not to think in 2023 he got that chest injury prior had some great games afterwards came back in the finals iffy and has been ever since.

Certainly can’t question the work rate of Tago on the weekend with 21 runs for over 200 meters. He was very good with some real tough carries and post contact meters.

Good to see Jesse McLean ripping in as well. He’s well down the pecking order here but if he keeps playing like he did on the weekend it could open doors for him elsewhere.

Those who go to Bathurst and are part of the NRL squad but miss out on game time won’t get any football as our NSW Cup play the Jets at 4.45pm at St Mary’s on Saturday.

Four games at St Mary’s on Saturday starting with Matt’s at 10.30am.

If you lived in the area. (sadly which I don't) they would be a great day out.

When I was in bathurst i was a gold member and could get down to games maybe 4-5 games a year and usually see u19, nsw cup and firsts which was good to see the juniors and up and comers. In the last year i was in bathurst the girls (Tarsha gale or some such?) started playing which was great both for the fans to see and for the players to have some fans watching
