There are workings happening in the background for a potential NRL stadium strategy committee. It is very early days.

Not sure who will end up on this committee as it’s way too early to say but it will likely be an assortment of competent business people/candidates with either (or both) strong high end commercial and/or political backgrounds from various states. This is crucial for lobbying strength.

Not sure when it will be formally up and running. But it will likely be around the next broadcast deal.

Not sure if it will be a temporary thing with a shelf life or if it will be an ongoing thing.

Likely won’t hear much in the media about this for some time - as I said it’s very early days. Will update as I learn more but it could be a while.

While that is a positive signal, it's very tardy on behalf of the game's leadership.

Venues need to be absolutely at the forefront of strategic thinking and competitive advantage, 'Workings happening' is pretty limp on behalf of the NRL.

Look how we'll be left second best in Brisbane, our games second-largest city. The outcome is a total disaster. Up there with David Gallop's TV deal back in 2005, which set the game back decades.

I’m a sharks fan and ocean protect stadium sucks I hate it.

But again how pathetic is this angle from the Tele. A bird shits on a seat … and that’s the sharks fault. Not to mention, take a wide shot so I know where it is. Likely on concourse and not worth $2500 per year. Actually no season seats are that expensive. Piss orf.

Long story short, birds shit outside.
Buzz sits up near us in the upper ET. The seat is NOT worth $2500 a year but $595 a seat. Our seats had bird s*** on them but the cleaners came and cleaned them up when asked. You get that with the amount of birds in the area, particularly by the water!!

Surely those old bucket seats can be replaced with modern flip down seats. Shark Park and Campbelltown are the only stadiums left with the shitty old bucket seats.

I'd rather PVL get together with the other two rectangular codes, and in unity, lobby for a new Canberra stadium, instead of criticising Fumbleball.

Forget Fumbleball PVL. Just concentrate on new tv deal and have a plan on how to upgrade or fund new stadiums.

This sounds nice in theory. But regrettably, working with the other codes is not realistic.

Soccer are determined to go on their own, as they see their crowd culture as unique and small. Which doesn't fit with the higher limits that Rugby League needs.

Union are culturally opposed to our game in every way. Recent events only makes the relationship even more antagonistic.

Regardless, Rugby League is big enough to stand on it's own two feet on this. Our game demands the biggest and the best stadiums on it's own merit.
