Tend to agree but I think supporters feel these players are not being held accountable because he’s picking the same team every week. Unless your name is Sloan or LKT.
As I’ve said in a previous post this morning. There is literally no one that we can bring up who isn’t under the age of 22 who is going to save our club week in and week out

Look at cup yesterday who has the”nrl experience” who can boost us.

- Sloan’s had his chance many times
- Lykan defensive poor and if it wasn’t for Hia the last two weeks I do think he would’ve come on to play halves and move Kyle to 9

These are the ONLY 2 who have more than 20 nrl games.

a lot on here act like we have a plethora of NRL experience in New South Wales cup not getting the run. Unfortunately, we don’t have that luxury..

I wish we had players to replace Guler, Kerr in the front row.

There are a few people on here with negative opinions after a loss who you can tell care deeply for the club and make mostly valid comments even if I don't always agree with them. They add something constructive and passionate to the discussion.
Then there are the miserable flogs who almost seem giddy with delight and pop up with multiple low IQ posts after a game like this. There's a few I'm sick to death of seeing and after reading through the post match comments have gone on to my permanent ignore list.

Anyway as for the game. Very frustrating finish. Twenty to go and we're ahead of last years grand finalists despite missing a few too many conversions. Maybe daring to dream. TBH I expected us to probably fall short right at the end but to concede that many so easily in the last twenty hurt to watch. Losing Gutho just before the rot set in didn't help. In the end, one X factor player was the difference between the teams. This needs to be Daniel Anderson's next big kill. He got Keaon. Now he needs to find us at least one but preferably two outside backs who can do what the Melbourne fullback did last night.
Good post -since 77- there are a few ‘2 schooner screamers ‘ on board . Some of which are calling for the heads of who else , but the Flanagans or Dean Young without I believe taking into consideration that they are here for the year and in any case whom would you get as a replacement- no one of note as the best are at other clubs .

Yes it was a hugely disappointing result , more so on the heels of they Las Vegas loss however that’s footy . The good days will come , but for now let’s suck it up without the nuclear button being pressed on our team and those whom are genuinely doing their best to pull the Dragons out of the quagmire .

And this all falls on the coach & his recruitment & retention in the long run.

I’m saying the club HAS been f**ked. But can’t blame an existing coach for the way the club has been handled and the dead wood we still have.

lawrie 550k
Sloan 550k

that itself is enough money to sign a decent front rower which were crucially missing
This is now very much his own roster so there are no excuses.

Over the last couple of years he wanted CT, EG, JK, LL, MS, KF, DC, VH, CG, TS, HS, DA, ST, LI and probably a few others as well. FFS he even wanted DY on his coaching staff.

He is surrounded by his own picks so are you telling us that he signed and retained players that are so mistake riddled they can’t be coached so therefore it’s not his problem?

Are you telling us it’s a bad roster and no one can do anything with it but at the same time somehow Flanno is not responsible?

Leilua is a prime example of Flanno’s coaching style. 2 years totally out of condition and now that he is fitter he’s become a clone of his elder brother capable of anything especially brain farts and dumb penalties that change the momentum of a game at a critical moment for us, yet like Kyle he is guaranteed a starting spot.

Daniel Atkinson & Kyle Flanagan will both go for scans on ankle injuries they suffered in Round 2.

Video brings concern for high ankle sprains with similar contact mechanisms causing foot to turn out. Good signs they were both able to finish the game (both incidents happened late in the 1st half) so hopefully minor issues.

But there have been players finish out games with moderate to high grade syndesmosis injuries in the past so ones to watch.

After watching 2 games and hearing the ring of 6 again I have to say the game is stuffed. It's not the game I grew up with.
My patience with the game and the club that I have always followed has worn me down.
I used to look forward to our games.
Going too more games but now its a chore to watch it at the ground.
My interest is getting less.

No penalty for either.

Totally agree possm.
Thats what my question was to the guy that posted.
Unfortunately with a fairly young squad we can’t just “call on reserve graders” because bar a few in that team they’re all under 22
I don’t mean to be rude but our top 17 squad is not young….Tu (not young but inexperienced), Stewart, Couchmans are the only young players… the rest of our team who played yesterday are very experienced…. In fact almost a dads army

yes our KOE side is young…. but no different to every other KOE side. That excuse does not wash any longer…. Many seem to look for excuses as to why we can’t compete…. being a young squad is not one of them

I think the KF experiment in the halves is not going to work. It hasn't worked for the last 2 years and it's not going to work for the remainder of the year. The idea of bringing Gutho to 5/8 and have Val at fullback is a good one. Give someone from the reserve grades to step into the centre. At least we may be able to create more try scoring opp.

F!@k that must have been a big rock that got lifted up for this many to have come crawling out from under it . I swear half on here can't wait for us to lose . It's good though, gives ya a better idea of who to hit the snooze button on , So good night DH's back under the rock ya go .
I politely suggest you are a bit mistaken re some of the people who are already pissed off and posting negatively.

It's not that they want to lose so they can have a whinge, they have a whinge because we do lose (and far too often) yet SFA seems to change especially the run on side or the tactics.

Our coach has far too much to say in the media, makes promises he can't keep, is pig headed and all the while reassuring the fans we are on the right trajectory and then we dish up a 60 minute performance and get more than a point a minute put on us at the back end of the game in round 2.

The coach is into his 3rd year in charge, with a squad almost all of his own doing and we are looking busted early whilst some other bottom half teams are showing marked improvement despite not having "Premiership Winning" coaches.

We all want to to win.
But a win here and there won't cut it.
Give us positive win loss records.

So you see ZERO positives for that 60 minutes to show we havent improved?

forget about that final 20!! Was poor everyone knows that’s.

But in previous 10 f**king years that 12-0 lead Melb had would’ve ended up 50-0..

A lot don’t take the positives, always looking for the negatives .
Anyway sometimes hard to read comments on here.

Wouldn't say that it's Flannos' own roster Can't have your own roster when people you want won't come here.

This is 2026....not 1966.

Quality players want to go to quality teams. Like how many current Origin players do we have? And how many years since we had a top 4 team? It's been 15yrs since we won a premiership. Seems we're been going backwards -with few exceptions- ever since. And we had plenty of rep players in that time, too. To say that Flanno has his own team is a bit of a stretch for mine.
With the utmost respect, Old Timer - you might want to check your meds.... or bring yourself up to date with how the NRL runs in 2026.

Please share your thoughts on the squad that you would have put together if you were Flanno.

I will be no doubt laughed at for this suggestion but I don’t care, Surely Dufty is worth a look as a depth signing. He would be cheap, has speed and has ball playing skills. Not sure if he’s fixed his defensive issues. We haven’t had any X factor since he left.
Well I’m not laughing.
I’m with you!!
He (duff) is worth a look.
Certainly still an X factor.
When last with us, he had issues with kick returns and defence.
And we had to cut him.

But now, if he has at least addressed his ball catching and kick returns, he is worth a shot.
He could be keen if it was an NRL contract.

I have no idea of the contract he is on with Souths - some sort of KOE thing.
But give him a call and get the legals onto it.

Anyone know how Cody is going with Easts.

You need to look at how many games we have led at the 60 minute mark to come up with a duck egg and the obligatory "oh but we were in the game until " posts.

The game is played over 80 minutes and 27 club rounds minus byes.

We are not employing coaches to be 60 minute geniuses or May premiers.

Other teams playing us seem to be able to find another gear when necessary whilst we find reverse.

An improved 60 minutes you say well please tell me what actually improved, did our forwards constantly bust into the back play and set our attack on fire, did our backs make tackle busts and set up 80 metre tries, did our defence hold firm in the tightest moments, did one of our players stand up and take the game by the throat, did we look cohesive and well drilled, did our halves take on the line creating panic in the opposition, did we get the bench right or did we stick with proven duds?

We saw a great pass from DA and a somewhat better kicking game which unfortunately included a couple of absolute blunders other than that we were pretty much the same old Dargons.

When the above points I made are realized on a week to week basis then by all means tell me we are improving but doing it every pancake day is anything but acceptable but obviously for you things are different.

We are a bunch of scrappers playing a totally different brand of footy to any reasonable team.

Yeah - I've watched both Warriors games and Jackson Ford has been immense.
Remember him? Remember what a hot prospect he was, coming up through the grades? Gets to Firsts and it's clear that Mary has no faith in him. He's in and out of Firsts or gets five minutes of the bench. Get him away from us - with a coach who is hardly A-list - and the form of his junior years is back with a vengeance.
This club has been allowed to become the place where football goes to die and it makes me very f***ing sad indeed.
Yes it’s very noticeable that Ford and Burns have really gone on since leaving us and going to the Warriors and Sharks.

Shits me.
