That would obviously have to be complete crap for there be even a snowballs chance of him ending up here. Crichton is still really good mates with half the squad.

If true that would be SL or Japanese rugby kind of territory for him.

Bulldogs star Bronson reportedly was told he was dropped for Enari Tuala for Round 3 against the Raiders, sparking his immediate release request bombshell.

The Daily Telegraph reported Xerri was dropped after barely holding his spot for the season opener in Las Vegas, with Tuala spending their bye week in Round 2 training at centre.

There were confirmed initial talks of a player swap deal between Xerri and Panthers centre Izack Tago, but those conversations weren’t initiated by the Bulldogs.

Code Sports reported Xerri is set to inform the Bulldogs he wishes to be granted the release just one game into the 2026 season.

Xerri’s request has blindsided the Bulldogs, with the publication reporting he has been told he will not be offered a new deal beyond 2027 and is angling for a release as a result.

Fox League understands that a player swap with the Penrith Panthers is being discussed, which would see Izack Tago make the switch to Belmore.

The 25-year-old was moved from left centre to right centre this season and if he moved, Code Sports reported there is talk the Bulldogs could name rookie Mitchell Woods when healthy in the halves alongside Lachlan Galvin with Matt Burton switching to the centres.

Bulldogs GM of Football Phil Gould has since come out and stated that the rumours of Xerri requesting a release are false.

If Xerri wants out because he is getting dropped. Then he is not the type of player for our club.

Plus he wouldn't make our current 19.

Exactly.

To me (who knows very little about either signing footy players, and Ivan) I don't think he's a Penrith type of player.

I see him as having too much baggage.

After his positive drug test and suspension, the Bulldogs offered him a fresh start. And now the dummy spit. Seems ungrateful to me and not the type of player we want here. Tago dropped, no dummy spit, Milky dropped, no dummy spit. Both these players I rate higher than Xerri.

I’d rather have taken Lomax than Xerri and I didn’t want Lomax

still think it’s BS - Yeo said last week that Tago is fine and committed here at Penrith.

Alamonte and Dyl too, there aren’t any toys laying on the ground outside Penrith dressing shed.

As soon as I saw it was F@#$Xsports I thought BS. The only way it isn't is if Tago wants out of Penrith. It was reported that Tago was being "affected by something out of his control" by Ivan and none of us know what that is. Possible breakup or illness in the family?

Probably wrong. He signed a 1 year deal with The Gallagher Chiefs in Rugby.
He came off the bench last week.
As of a few weeks ago he has goals of playing for the All Blacks.
