Koina, Petrus,Bamblet do have some serious talent.

I've not seen enough of Fletcher. Physically tho he is still a boy.
Katarac goes ok

Risati is a big kid. Very athletic looking so will be good to see if he comes good.

Backs are strong but not much speed or footwork amongst the lot.

This is the problem with the eye test, especially when you haven’t watched as many games as @Delboy and myself.

Some players have a skill set that is especially suited to carving up isolated defenders. That stays useful for outside backs all the way to NRL, but for forwards and spine players it becomes far less useful in higher grades (compared to other traits) due to limited opportunities. NRL defenders don’t allow their mates to be isolated the way players do at SG Ball level.

And this is what can let a solid performer at SG Ball make the jump to higher grades while some SG Ball standouts never make it. The SG Ball standouts are optimised for a style of footy that doesn’t exist at professional level.

Obviously this doesn’t apply to all or even most players who carve up in SG Ball. The best NRL players all would’ve been great in the under 18s/19s too.

Like i mentioned last weekend he was one of the best in the Flegg win over the Storm. Same with Fletcher.

I have my worries on the direction our junior teams are given in game management.
Over the years you see the better NRL sides have their juniors play a similar game to them.

We have 3-4 really good front rowers in our ball side alone but they dont dominate in defence they do ok rucking out of their own half but that's not what the good teams do.

Also our halves look all over the place we dont have a simple game plan with ruck out of our half kick long and dominate in defence.

In saying this we won last weekend in flegg with our defence and dominating field position.. but it did take until we had the ex tiger merkin come onto the field...

With Petrus its the same with any talented junior can they continue to work and develop on their skills..

Do we have the staff to actually teach these merkins to get better..

It is hard watching it live and no replays.


For now I have Bamblett,Petrus and Koina as highest chances to make it.

Next tier - Nunn,Fletcher,Kotarac,Fletcher.

I probably won't get to another game unless make finals which is doubtful atm.

Just looking at draw we are basicaly no chance of finals now. Its top 4. Only 8 games and there are 4 sides undefeated whilst weve dropped 1 and a draw.

Basically now both Matt and Ball teams will need a lot of luck to make the finals..

I agree..
Bamblett has a lot of natural ability that can be worked on. I Hope he gets a game in Flegg soon..

Petrus has played up in Flegg and played just as well.

Koina is Mr Consistent puts in 100% hopefully his injury run is done now..

Nunn has been upgraded so the coaching staff see something.

Fletcher I still think can be a really good player with the right coaching.. We need the right coaches at this club for halves...

Kotarac I agree with your early observation on fitness I hope he gets his fitness up there as he does well when he comes on from the bench..
