My boy! Glad everyone has realised how good he is and he's getting his flowers.
It’s certainly refreshing to see some loyalty in the game when I suspect he could have gone elsewhere for probably significantly more dollars. I hope his deal is a good for him personally he has earnt it.

Penrith back-rower Luke Garner is set to ink a contract extension to remain at the Panthers beyond this year. It is understood the 30-year-old attracted interest from the likes of Gold Coast before indicating he would remain at Penrith.
The deal is expected to be for the next two years.
Garner found himself starting the first two games of the season with veteran Scott Sorensen – who is Perth bound – relegated to the interchange bench. Garner has returned to the bench to make-way for Liam Martin’s return.

I wonder how much getting picked ahead of sorro helped.

I like what Garner brings to the table.

He said a few weeks ago in the Western Weekender he wanted to stay. He loves the place.
“Ever since I came here, ever since I walked through those doors, I’ve enjoyed coming here every day. So if I could do that, extend here and stay for a little bit longer, it would be nice.”
Great loyalty and further proof we are doing things right.

He has been down the struggling club path. The lean Tigers years. The money would be better but The Titans would be another struggle.
Us having a little more money with Sorro and Henry going. Probably helped. I am sure he knows there is opportunities next year.

If he is married with kids it means he can continue in his house, not uproot the kids from school and family. A lot of benefits for a footy player with a wife and family.

So what happens to the cap this year or bringing in another player outside 30?
I assume he will have sought a medical retirement. He gets paid out.

I assume the unpaid portion of his salary will go back into our 2026 cap and it will free up a position in the top 30.

Win win I guess.
