I assumed he must already be in the 30; isn’t there a rule you can’t play guys outside the 30 until a certain round? Or have I got that wrong?
He doesn’t appear in main panthers website list which list 27 players currently. Not that that means much. He probably is already just not on our main website.

Huth was good for us at 13 and bloody terrible anytime he played prop.

All the best in retirement

There just numbers on the back of a shirt mate.

He did his job every time he was called upon,

He deserved more respect during his on field performances than he got which is a shame because he always did a fine job in his limited roles.
They really aren't just numbers.
Huth did very well when in Yeo's passing role but when you knew he was just hitting it up he wasn't effective at all.

11 and 12 are edge backrowers, 8,10 and 13 are used as middles. Not all middles play the same though, Leota is a bash and barge type where as Yeo is a ball playing link type middle.

Yeo and Leota play completely different positions/roles. Definitely not just a different number on their back.
I think he meant regarding Chins comment on Huth being a decent 13, but not so much 8 or 10.

He copped some hate from I think maybe Chris D pretty regularly. To be fair whoever it was acknowledged they had gotten it wrong when it became impossible to ignore that he was doing great.

I think MugaB used to shit on Garner because he came from a wooden spoon team.

We likely lose the 2023 and 2024 GFs without him.

Imagine Salmon or Mav defending at centre against the Broncos left side or Storm right side attacks.

The ability to defend at a top 4 side level at either second row or centre is an insane attribute to have.

I think you are right. Chris D had a hard on for hating on RCG.

I think most were pretty pleased with his signing initially though, a bit of frustration that he couldn't stay uninjured for a bit. I always thought he was quality when he was still a Tiger, but he has well exceeded my expectations, happy to see him in black for a few more years.

Yeah. I just think its a bit disingenuous and reductive to say theyre just numbers in this context. The 13 is flexible, but Yeo has basically established a prototype for the position that functions very differently to a traditional middle. Huth being miles better in that role than he was as a traditional prop is a pretty reasonable take and one that has been made many times over the years here.

He also has a nose for the tryline. Good for 5-6 tries a year minimum. Not prolific but consistent. Decent value at $5.60 anytime try scorer tonight.

Keep in mind he was replacing Kikau. Big shoes to fill at the time. But Garner is just a totally different backrower.

Garner and Kiks are the same age.

IMO Garner offers more now than Kiks.

Watching Kiks last night he wasn't running good lines and still wants to try something that isn't on, he also doesn't skittle the first man anymore.

I agree.

Kikau might be worth a try in the middle these days.
