On the subject at hand, your Uncle Nick puffed his chest about zero tolerance to put shit on another club, then when given the chance to back it up with actions got weak in the knees. That's the facts. What Radley actually deserved isn't even relevant. Zero tolerance is zero tolerance. Back it up or shut up.

I did back it up. You failed to, or was too embarressed to comment on it.
yes zero tolerance! Radley got 10 weeks, was never charged and as far as I know, was not even interviewed by the cops. Near everyone else thought (Radley) was hard done by, particularly when Ezra Mam, was charged with drunk, under the influence of drugs, unlicensed and causing grievous bodily harm to a little girl. No more need be said except your biased unfair comments on "justice" was ridiculous.

Perhaps, just perhaps, if you take the time to do some research, you'll find out I didn't come in with jackboots on as you imagine. I called a particular contributor out by stupidly claiming that Nick Politis runs the nrl and the Roosters don't adhere to the salary cap. Like I said, I am not crrrrritical of the Panthers, in fact I admire their system. The small number of petty so called rumour mongering supporters on this forum are the problem. My problem? I don't hesitate in calling anyone out when they make unsubstantiated, unevidenced rumour mongering claims about another club, particularly mine. That's cowardly, that's dishonest, and that's what I will always call out.
I think the bigger issue within our game is the fact all clubs basically spend there salary cap. I believe they are required too, I haven’t googled it, but do not all clubs have to spend 90% or thereabouts of there cap each season.

The problem being the inequity, you got the bottom sides spending largely the same amount as the competition heavyweights. That doesn’t make a lot of sense when you analyse the makeup of each clubs rosters. Obviously the elephant in the room is the third party agreements which personally I’ve never been comfortable with.

This debate, issue will never fully be resolved until the NRL introduces a draft system and as we all know this will never happen.

So where does that leave us, exactly where we are now with these rather pointless arguments with no winners, plenty of losers being those clubs stuck in mediocrity in the 9-17 positions or worse still 5-17.

I don’t think any clubs currently are cheating the salary cap, it is the salary cap cheating the game if that makes sense.

Thank you! And you make a good point. A shame others are too one sided and biased to recognise those facts. We all remember the Melbourne Storm a few years ago, when they were caught over spending. On the details, like you, I am not really up to date. Except to say all clubs will push the envelope to the edge.

We got clubs in our game with $1M plus players in the key positions and the lesser lights probably have players in the same positions who are borderline NRL quality but as a club overall they spend almost the same amount of money on the cap overall. It just doesn’t pass the smell test, makes no sense and yet the NRL promote this this utopia of evening out the completion thru the salary cap. It is a farce. You can rightfully question whether the competition heavyweights are cap compliant but I have no doubt they are. It is the application of the rules ,laws, third party secret arrangements that are the problem.

Look, I'm going to have to assume going by your post count that your care facility only just got wifi and this internet caper is new to you. I'll give you a quick rundown on forum etiquette.

Go into another teams sub, you will get a few barbs thrown at you. Take them with good grace, remain respectful and earn your stripes and in time you can get a bit more colorful with the banter and it will be well received (for the most part).

Someone goes into your teams sub and starts waxing lyrical about their club and gets testy when copping barbs, have at it, give it to them with everything you've got.

NRL sub, neutral ground, anything goes.

A salary cap and Uncle Nick jab and you go on a 2 page rant of absolute crap along with insults. No one gives a f**k about the Roosters or what they did back when they played in a comp with a handful of teams in an area the size of a postage stamp. Anything pre 1967 is irrelevant in here. Also we have been in 5 of the last 6 GFs and won 4 of them, we aren't that easily impressed.

On Uncle Nick, his comments regarding drugs were very high and mighty and projected that the Roosters were far superior in how they would handle such matters. The implication was it didn't matter who it was their contract would be torn up, then enter the Inflictor. You couldn't write it, pure gold. Anything less than a sacking was weak kneed, that's the fact. If Nick had shut up and kept out of something he no need to even comment on, most people wouldn't have batted an eye lid if his indiscretion was a little slap on the wrist. I personally couldn't give a rats arse if players indulge in bit of the devils dandruff on their own time, but I also didn't chest beat in the media about zero tolerance, that was Uncle Nick.

@Valheru come and get your Nan, I think she's off her meds.

The other thing about Uncle Nick’s hypocrisy is that we know it wasn’t just Radley on the gear.

Or did his ‘mates’ just leave him high and dry?

That's rumour mongering nonsense. He certainly has influence over the club he is chairman of and holds firm values to the line. As illustrated with the 10 week suspension given to an Uncharged, Victor Radley.

We have a tiny junior league base, so? We buy what and when we can, as other clubs do. The problem as I see it, is that many other clubs and their supporters, are envious of probably the most efficiently run club in the nrl, with one of the most astute coach's. The often heard "sombrero hat" and paper bag accusations, support the envy and jealousy many other supporters and clubs have for the mighty Roosters, one of the only two foundation clubs, and more records than you can poke a stick at.
(google) The Sydney Roosters hold extensive rugby league records, most notably a record 20 Minor Premierships and 15 NSWRL/NRL premiership titles (1911–2019). They are the only foundation club to compete in every season since 1908 and hold 5 World Club Challenge titles, 38 consecutive wins, the largest 1975 Grand Final margin, and 12 Club Championships.

  • Premierships: 15 (1911, 1912, 1913, 1923, 1935, 1936, 1937, 1940, 1945, 1974, 1975, 2002, 2013, 2018, 2019).
  • Minor Premierships: 20 (Record).
  • World Club Challenge Titles: 5 (Record).
  • Biggest Win: 87-7 vs Canterbury (18 May 1935).
  • Highest Score: 87 points (87-7 vs Canterbury, 1935).
  • Longest Winning Streak: 10 consecutive wins (1996). Wikipedia +3

Based on expert analysis for Round 3 of the 2026 NRL season, the Sydney Roosters v Penrith Panthers clash is widely seen as a blockbuster matchup with the Sydney Roosters entering as slight favourites to win, despite Penrith's dominant recent history in the fixture.

  • Betting Perspective: While Penrith has dominated the recent head-to-head (11 wins from the last 12), early 2026 betting markets favor the Roosters as a "smart" play or tight underdog.
  • Panthers Form: Experts note the Panthers are no longer deemed the same defensive force, having conceded high scores recently, allowing 28.3ppg at times during 2025/early 2026.
  • Roosters Momentum: The Roosters are coming off a period where they have shown, as they did in early 2025, an ability to overcome Penrith through sheer effort and capitalizing on opportunities.
  • Key Matchup: The battle between fullbacks Dylan Edwards (Panthers) and James Tedesco (Roosters) is viewed as a critical point, particularly regarding Origin contention and leading their respective teams.
  • Verdict: Expect a tight, high-intensity game where the home ground advantage for the Roosters may be the deciding factor.
Every year, the idiots in the Sydney media tip the rorters to win the comp and to beat the panthers throughout the season. Nothing new bossyc*nt.

Thankfully what you think means SFA in the greater scheme of things. Other NRL club supporters are often jealous of the Sydney Roosters due to a combination of sustained success, financial resources, and a perceived "elitist" culture that makes the club easy to dislike. The jealousy often stems from their ability to consistently secure top-tier players and compete for premierships while being perceived as having an unfair advantage.

Here are the primary reasons for this envy:

Financial Power and Recruitment ("The Sombrero"):
Sustained Success and Domination:
"Brand" Perception: The club is viewed as elitist, with rival supporters frequently using stereotypes like "latte-sipping, caviar-eating, boat shoe-wearing" to describe their supporters and "Bondi grubs" as a derogatory term.
The Nick Politis Factor: As a successful businessman and long-term club powerbroker, Nick Politis is often accused of leveraging his personal wealth to build a winning culture that other teams cannot match.

In summary, the jealousy is a mix of frustration at the Roosters' ability to buy top talent and frustration at their consistent ability to turn that talent into trophies.

Now go back to your basement until the men in white coats arrive. Mummy maybe in later to breast feed you.

Technically my favourite thread. But it doesn't get used enough.

Someone should post in the board elections thread again too.

I forgot Teddy is a racist
A dumb entitled merkin at a minimum

I lost a lot of respect for him that day.

Top 5 most respected players in nrl still playing:
Based on performance, leadership, and reputation heading into the 2026 NRL season, here are five of the most respected players still playing:

  1. Nathan Cleary (Penrith Panthers): Widely regarded as the premier player in the NRL, Cleary is respected for his unparalleled game management, leadership in leading Penrith to multiple titles, and high-level professionalism.
  2. Isaah Yeo (Penrith Panthers): The Panthers' ultra-reliable co-captain and a multi-time Dally M Lock of the Year, Yeo is respected as one of the most consistent, intelligent, and valuable leaders in the game.
  3. James Tedesco (Sydney Roosters): The Roosters skipper and reigning 2025 Dally M Medallist (as of late 2025/early 2026 reports), Tedesco is highly respected for his longevity, work ethic, and ability to perform at an elite level, leading the NRL in runs and run metres.
  4. Harry Grant (Melbourne Storm): As the successor to Cameron Smith at both club and state levels, Grant has earned immense respect for his high work rate, leadership as Storm captain, and ability to succeed in the most pressured role in the game.
  5. Payne Haas (Brisbane Broncos): Recognized as one of the most dominant and damaging props in rugby league, Haas is respected for his unmatched work rate and consistency, frequently named among the top players in the competition.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I didn’t say anything that isn’t true. You can’t see it through your rooster lens. Go back to the start of the year and read who all the experts were predicting for this year. Same bullshit, new year, prick.

Your typing skills need co-ordinating. Obviously you should have typed, "I didn't say anything that is true" Just a question, is your handle Goon or prick. You signed off with prick makes it confusing.
