Why do you guys idolise this sleazy car salesman?

It’s easy to see why some people like him. They see him as entertaining and furthermore the media like him. This has meant that the League are getting good press coverage which has unusual.

I think he has on the balance been good but I agree with you there is that snake oil salesman aspect. Also I wish he would stop changing rules every season which is my greatest bugbear.

I`ll tell you one thing for sure he wouldn`t tolerate a club CEO who took pictures of his own dick and guarantee he then wouldn`t be complicit in blaming the bloke`s wife and throwing her under the bus to deflect the heat from that silly past-time. What a bunch of low-life, weazly pathetic grubs. Makes me sick.

If anyone doubts the growing popularity of AFL in India, check out Fox Sports 503 right now!

Calm down. I noticed that they have had a broadcast in Mandarin previously. I doubt they are taking over China anytime soon.

Btw I don’t actually think it is a bad strategy on their part but it is still just a strategy.

Gee I wonder why.. Maybe because the game has gone from strength to strength under his leadership in terms of crowds and tv ratings. We are also finally buying up some assets to shore up the game’s future and expanding into new markets. We had limp wristed leaders for far too long prior to him.
The true test will be this next broadcast deal but so far he is making all the right moves.

IF NRL get $600m a year which is more than likely now St Pete should be voted PM, if he gets $800m per year which is where the game is heading he should be voted Pope

Be careful of the early crow mate.

PVL is all about money, I have no doubt people will complain no matter what the deal is but he will get the best balanced deal.

RL needs to a fast game, that limits ad space. Stuff like that comes into it

I have noticed he stopped this BS about shortening the season, TV no doubt told him some truths about that.

The last deal was apparently so bad, yet expansion happened. The NRLW is still far from standing on its own, game bought assets.

If we get similar from the new deal, then it is hard to say TV deals hurt the legacy because some people feel the game should have more

They might do one less game during the season but the finals goes to ten teams

Im on the record as expecting a better deal. I also note he basically HAS to get one at this point. Not getting one will be a fail.
Nice u turn

You said ratings don’t matter that reach / minutes watched mean afl will always get more

And of course Pvl will be doing this in an adverse economy with the war / inflation / Interest rates and gambling bans

If we actually manage to get 800 million it will be more than every other football code in Australia combined (afl union soccer)

Especially if it’s only a five year v seven year deal

I enjoy RL and ratings analysis, but the delusions of some people here are ridiculous. NRL and AFL are extremely closely matched ratings wise, yet certain posters have no objectivity.

Not a big difference in ratings considering the major headline clash in fumble with the most popular fumble team, with bvod included its practically the same result - not rating much more than an expansion team and club in crisis in a mid-bottom table NRL clash.

That fumble match up is one of their best for ratings and can barely scrape a win over dolphins and manly
That is an average result for the NRL , but understandable as you say.
That is a staggering awful result for the fumblers with no reason other then the decline of the stumbling clown show continues
