Rumours and Stuff

People on here were shitbagging the re-signing of Guymer.

I look him up and he represented NSW in under 19s.

I am still a fan he came into first grade and it seemed like we had a plan for him but since that the plan seems to have shifted and he hasn't adjusted.

The re-signing of Guymer is the challenge of meeting the expectations of every vested interest group from salary cap limitations, junior fan-base, moneyball, sponsors, coach and long term director of football.

Then there's the pressing up of the junior base with all the parents wanting their kids to represent.

I'm glad we got some professionals in and formulated a vision which we now have in practice to ensure nepotism does not reign in this club again.

Someone on here that should have known better asked the other day what juniors have we produced in the last decade who are standouts.

1) Ethan Sanders - heir apparent to Ricky at Raiders. I wish we kept him and blame 100% BA
He left because we had Moses.
2) Blaize Tailagi - getting better in defense under the greatest coach in my lifetime
He left because we had Drown.
3) Haumole Olakau'atu - could have been an Eels legend
We didn't develop him. He never even came through our pathways. He wasn't good enough for anyone's Harold Matts or SG Ball. His first pathways footy was for Manly's under 20s: https://18thman.com/players/haumole-olakauatu/
4) Stefano Utoikamanu - ditto

These should have been at our core retention in the last decade. Hopefully, Brown and co can right this ship.
Utoikamanu chased the money and achieved very little at Wests. He is only just starting to reach his potential. On Friday he looked like he was still at the Tigers.

"He left because we had Drown."

He was guaranteed any position he liked, even director of football so long as he'd stay.

Drown had nothing to do with it, it was all on BA.

Seriously, you're a BA nut-hugger to not see that.

We lost Sanders because of BA and his hold on the retention policy.
Sanders left after Jake Arthur. He played in our SG Ball grand final side less than a month before we rissoled Jake.

I've told you this before. Next time you bring it up, I'll tell you again.

Talagi only wanted to play five-eighth. And he left after BA, so it's got nothing to do with him. Maybe he didn't want to play for a rookie coach?

Shouldn't this be on BA?

Why didn't BA sell him on Eels?
Because money talks. These guys stop being footy fans once it becomes their career. If they have dependents, their loyalty is to them, not their clubs.

You make the NRL sound like the Lord Humongous is running the show and The Gasoline is our god!

Isn't there more to life than the petro-dollar?

What about family, loyalty, and unification of one people under a symbol that represents their common goal?

Jake wasn't at the club. Sanders played in our reserve grade side in 2024 while Jake Arthur's was at Manly. They actually played against each other that year when Blacktown smashed us. Charlie Guymer was there too: https://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/...-vs-blacktown-workers-sea-eagles/summary.html
There is no point in lying when every point is easily verifiable in a google search.

year ethan sanders signed with raiders: April 2024

year that jake arther scored a try in the nrl grand final: 2022

Wait, what?

I think I need to create a timeline of Eels purchases to junior retention
