Yeah but you are almost doubling your earnings going to png. Tax rate for someone earning 200k or more is 45 percent. So if your making 700k in 1 year alone your are taking an extra couple hundred thousand home, just two years of that could a life changing financial gain for some of them even if they are already on very good money
Unless I have got the tax incentives being offered wrong then I think png will be able to attract players offering tax free contracts.

Yeah i don't know how that one will work. Still I find it a hard sell but maybe that'll be all the difference they need. Might get a lot of one off contracts where they come back to Aus after getting some $$.

Again if I’m right about the tax situation then I’m taking a couple seasons in png and the extra hundreds of thousands of dollars over a couple years in Canberra or Perth or Newcastle even. If my company offered me that deal right now same pay but tax free for a couple years in png I’m taking that in a heartbeat.

Yeah you've got me on that one I'd be pretty tempted and I've got 3 girls. Youngest are 5 & 6.

I hope PNG will do well. BUT if they don't will there be riots on the streets etc??

They dont riot when they lose internationally(at least ive not heard of it). By any measure there is a lot more violence and lawlessness in their society compared to Australia but one thing that almost universally loved is RL so the fans hopefully wont put the teams existence in jeopardy by doing things like rioting after losing. I mean there will be the typical drunken stuff that occurs and in PNG the typical stuff that occurs is levels above the typical anti social behaviour in Aus.

That being said the players will be in a bubble, there will be sacrifices for players and their families but that is offset by a huge financial gain. Anyway im sure there will be some playerss who arent interested but money is big motivator so they will get players signing up

That is the sort of situation the players are dealing with.

Each situation is different but even if you are tempted, Most people in that situation wouldn't go if the kids wouldn't handle the move and so on.

Particularly if the side looks to be garbage on field

So yes some players would benefit, others if they want a big pay day can go to a bum club over here

Won’t the Hunters be made up mostly of PNG players? Won’t be competitive short term but all about setting up development.

Yeah they are 2 years into adopting our now famous 5 year plan. They have no issue developing ESL standard players now, So with the proper setup they can be pretty decent with local guys.

I am more concerned about Perth to get a competitive team

It is a bit concerning that we have so many off contract at the end of the 26/27 seasons. As confident as I am to retain the key players, we've seen this year that there is a cohesion in our squad that I don't want to see ripped apart. Hopefully our success this year will ensure players stay on.

Ivan & Nathan Cleary, Milky, Martin, Garner (recently re-signed), Blaize, Paps and Leota are a must for me. Smith I'd love to keep but it will be hard to keep them all.

To'o I'd love to keep but likely he goes to the Tigers.

I think this could be the largest series of signings & Re-signings the club has experienced in some time.

What juniors?
There are 33 registered clubs 14503 registered player under union some will come league kids .the are registered league club
There are 18 registered league clubs not a bad start considering they have not had a team since super league.
What juniors you ask well there’s a good start and it will grow as the team starts

We had to do it like this incase guys hit the wall, last thing we wanted is a Cowboys after 2015 and all old guys

We fixed our depth up atleast should we lose anyone of note

Where will those juniors play to get better though?

PNG feeds into QCup.

Newcastle has decent junior numbers, have Ball and Matt's teams, a decent local comp and still are shit in NRL

Newcastle are a poorly run club Jesus could play halfback and they still struggle.Reality is Western Australia is far more viable than png .what happens to png when the government money stops

Yeah if we are talking about juniors PNG has them, They will become more accessible to other clubs scouting as well with the Chiefs there. This will be good PNG overall, anticipate in the near future PNG kids finding their way to the top league and union high schools.

RL is compulsory to play in school in PNG, problem is they play bare foot and on concrete.

The govt money will fix that.

Remember the satellite academies we have?
PNG have that in every region, so areas with no road access to the main centres. Can now get the same coaching which improves and increases the player standard.

Every good kid in Perth are still going to go to AFL. Those who stay will smash South Australia, NT and other weaker teams

Can't agree on the AFL. Basically only tall sticks can play it.
