Really great post. Dragons skew older but they're not the spent force people on here seem to describe. People think that when clubs stop winning, their fans vanish and shift to other teams. Instead what they mostly do is go from active to less active. They attend fewer games. They watch fewer games on TV. But there's still Dragons fans out passing their loyalties onto their children.I'm a St George based fan who has been a member at Kogarah for over 20 years but I can see a world where we only play 1 or 2 games there a year. I know it will piss off the R2K brigade but the state government isn't putting in money when it isn't state owned and we only play 5 games a year there at most.
One day they'll be successful again and all those dormant fans suddenly wake up. Hopefully when they do, the Dragons will be playing a decent chunk of games at the SFS against teams like the Roosters, Rabbitohs and Tigers, because they'll massively improve their average attendance over night.
