As long as you don’t have high expectations and are realistic then sure
Just because Aussies are coming in doesn’t mean they are super men
NRL is biggest domestic rugby comp in world. Absorbing superleague increases its size & reach.

When the last time you said something positive?
I think the game is struggling in the UK, I'm negative on it... But dead? Even the stuff I'm negative on, you went even more negative.
There's no possible way you're actually a League fan. So where are you trolling from? AFL or Union?
Is there really demand for a 4th SEQLD club though? The NRL, Clubs, QRL can still invest in these areas that aren't represented by an NRL team. Don't need to have an NRL team to grow the game, especially in these places that have been League heartland for 100+ years.I’ve stated on here ad nauseam that Broncos, Dolphins and Titans cannot sufficiently service all of SE QLD RL.
The western parts (Ipswich to Toowoomba) is criminally neglected and Titans putting back 3 or 4 of their unused top 30 players to the Jets QRL side most weeks means little in terms of continued heartland and pathways support.
Toowoomba don’t even have an NRL affiliation which is the bare minimum really.
By the Souths & Warriors comments that’s more attributed to Warriors having a pathways and recruitment base located in Logan and Souths having a deal with Keebra. Roosters has a deal with Iona
Bears have a deal with Tigers.
Logan RL is a bit of a mess with multiple QRL and NRL clubs setting up shop as a free for all. Ipswich, Toowoomba and western parts are under resourced and under utilised when understanding their numbers. Big part of why QRL is backing the push for Jets inclusion to the NRL. Jets might as well be bolstered and look after their own catchment properly - because the other SEQLD NRL clubs cannot and I doubt that’ll change as the population here keeps increasing - it becomes increasingly difficult to sufficiently service all areas adequately.
I don’t sign up to this AFL threat - I’m very much in the basing Jets prospects on their own merits and strengths camp. Which is how it should be. That’s the proactive way.
There is always demand for more irrespective of how it looks like.Is there really demand for a 4th SEQLD club though? There's literally 3 NRL teams within commute for which they can follow, after the Dolphins have been entered, how many people in West Brisbane aren't at this point already all in on supporting a club? Seriously? Is there really demand for a 4th SEQLD club though? The NRL, Clubs, QRL can still invest in these areas that aren't represented by an NRL team. At one point in time Brisbane had its own BRL comp and almost every club in that comp was incredibly well supported. There were more than 3 teams in that comp (in comparing to the current NRL SE QLD club lay of the land)
So the concept of increasing premier teams is nothing new. The population is there, that population has demonstrated that they’ll invest into the game with their time and money. Equally the commercial opportunities are there, these commercial spaces have demonstrated that they’ll invest into the game with their money.
Resources are there. It’s a minimal risk and a good return reward should the game venture with another SE QLD club based in Ipswich. Whether it’s in 5 years or in 10 years - this push will only continually get stronger and louder.
The region that the Jets are to cater for is booming. All current SE QLD NRL clubs have had an opportunity to invest back into the area and yet none really do and that’s because their own catchments (Brisbane, Gold Coast, Moreton) are massive and require a lot (from those clubs) to adequately cover. Throwing a bone to Ipswich and western towns which rival those others in the form of part time and minimal effort attention isn’t substantial enough.
Tigers already fund multiple junior clubs and school program in Logan. They have shown that historical catchment boundaries mean little to them. The people on the Tigers side aren’t confined by perceived borders and see opportunity where others might see limitations.Jets brand and region are of most value, but will tigers be happy co-funding jets team out of Ipswich?!

I get the feeling that the AFL would secretly be happy if one of the weaker Melbourne clubs hit the wall & started looking at relocation. If AFL is to grow in QLD even further they'll need a bigger TV deal... I'm under the impression AFL will hit it's ceiling in the next decade. If a beast needs to grow it needs more food... I don't think the Australian market can keep feeding it.
Hence why Abdo and PVL are looking abroad.
Also on top of that majority of traditional AFL clubs have been left behind or forgotten about, just so they can push into the non AFL states.
AFL has been played in Queensland since the 1860s while Rugby League has been played in Western Australia since the 1940s so it's not really an apples vs apples comparison, although the Bears have the potential to carve out a following similar to that of the NZ Warriors as I remember people said the Warriors would never gain traction in NZ due to the dominance of Rugby Union and look at how that turned out.How are the Lions a basketcase? lol
They sell out the Gabba, although its capacity is capped, they won back to back premierships. I'm all for bagging AFL but making up rubbish for cOdE wArS makes you look like the sad delusional pricks on bigfooty.
Do you really think the Bears are going to carve out a huge market in Perth that is bigger than what the Lions have done in Brisbane? It's going to take them decades, are you going to call the Bears a basketcase cause they are smaller than the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle AFL teams?

That way, they could expand to Tasmania (team 19) AND have a relocation plus the 20th spot to broaden that footprint.

Either that or move GWS to Canberra. That’s more unlikely though.

They not moving from larger market. Even if they don't draw flies location has value in terms of reach.
