I look forward to watching every "tackled in the air" penalty resulting in a sin bin.
He’s getting suspended for it. It was a grade two dangerous contact charge, not grade one. He came down on him so hard it looked like a neck injury at first. Very dangerous play.

if the idiots in charge have any brains they would be working round the clock to secure the following...

* the last 2 roster spots.

* loan deals to players who arent getting a run atm, ie: Skelton or AKP

* working with NRL to have Matto medically retired yesterday.

I wonder if MON and Rogers have been thinking about that during their morning coffee and muffin at the COE cafe?

I'm not too sure how much practice Moses is doing on his goal kicking
We know he is being heavily load managed due to injury history, and we knock that with any persistant leg injuries like he's had, the biggest impact on those is kicking - so i doubt he's spending hours banging over kicks over week.

It doesn't help that our first choice backup is Russell, second choice is Pezet, and 3rd choice i believe is Simonssen - all of whom were off the field when Apa scored his 2 tries.

Our options were Moses on 1 leg, and Tallyn as a 5th string goalkicker.

Funnily in training videos you see the forwards having pot shots from the sideline for bets - and i've seen Junior pot them over when lunch is on the line - maybe we should give him the shot...

The problem any team has when hit with the injury stick, is that you run around trying to find a back and then you need to sign him for 2027 as well - when you don't really want him on your roster.

The last 2 roster spots were probably not left open for these types of players either.

I like the loan idea, but clubs are likely to hold on to players just in case they end up like us.

Accelerating the Matto MR would be a blessing, however the player needs to agree. Ideally the NRL needs to grant salary cap exemption (if we can prove that the condition did not exist was not pre-existing at the time of his last contract) AND THEN, separately, Matto might get a payout from the insurer if the player claims that the injury cut his career short. I get the feeling that Matto won't be pushed into any corner that compromises is position. Fair enough I guess. Not great for us.

Russell got pinged for "running up out of the defensive line and not showing duty of care". Those were the ref's comments when explaining his decision to Mitch.

Never heard of such a decision prior, but if it's ever gonna happen, it will happen to us.
Happened to Dale Fanucane at the sharks.

I’m feeling very defeated today. The difference between the good clubs and the shit ones (doesn’t mean small club, just shit unsuccessful teams like us) is bigger than I ever remember it.

If you want to persist with supporting this club, I’d suggest you temper your expectations for the odd excitement of knocking over a team ranked higher than us on the ladder. That’s going to be the best moments however they are far outweighed by hopes and prayers whilst we absolutely suck most of the time.

Forget long ubdefeated runs, grand finals, top 4 spots on the ladder. It’s not happening.

I’m genuinely embarrassed by how much time, thought and passion I’ve put in to supported this team.

Now you get it. We ain't seeing another premiership for at least another 40 years. This club is cooked. Nothing I have seen, other then just false hype about direction and junior development, has changed since Brian Smith left. He for all his faults was the last great coach/manager this club hired who could and did continually bring in the best on and off the field people to better this club.

No matter what, you always felt and knew even when we had a bad season or two, that he would rejig and he did it so fast, and steady the ship again. If only he didn't have that other mean and paranoid side to him, we might have jagged a premiership or two.

Anyway as is Smith long gone and all the wonderful staff he had with him, so is any hope of true long term success, let alone a premiership.

Parra is a fart in a space suit while drifting in space and we're stuck with this smell of death for what now seems forever.

Have you ever watched a game? Seriously?

he never touched his head or neck and he came down behind him holding him.

It looked like a neck injury to you at first? His foot pointing at his arse didn't distract you?

He clearly talked him in mid air, its clearly a penalty. I could understand the argument that if he isnt tackling him, holding him, he doesnt land like that and the injury doesnt happen. A horrible accident.

Biggest load of garbage I have ever heard.

I was gobsmacked.

Maybe we shouldn't have stood up for ourselves against the NRL in the Lomax saga...

Twidle is a handy goalkicker.
