I think Apa has more what you call a bit of X-Factor about him.

He has that quick feet & movement about him.

Like a lot of those players it generally comes at a cost where there defence is very flaky and a weakness. And i suppose the debate will be does the spark and skill he brings is enough to make up for the shortcomings.
Only at fullback I reckon

the issue there is a bloke like Apa doesn't quite have a defined position and if we're being honest we're probably well covered in the 1/6/7 through the whole club.

1/ Iongi, Joash, Bamblett, Davis

6/7 Moses, Talataina, Flertcher, Risati, maybe Lui ?

From what I have seen of Twiddle he is a dynamic runner of the ball. Thats his strength. His defense terrible. But he is a big boy and that can never fixed. Could he be transformed into a centre of winger? If not he probably isnt starting for us.
Risati is an interesting one. From the 2 games ive seen he kinda plays a little slow compared tonsay Lorenzo and doesnt hit the line fast but he is huge for a 5/8 and has a lethal step.
He might be turned into a ball playing by Lock or centre moving forward.

This is how it is. Weve committed to Ionghi.
Twiddle needs to get the 5/8 spot but he has competition from Bamblet and Lorenzo
No he doesn’t.
What this season shows and what everyone has been whinging on here about is we need depth. So all we need to do is choose between Papalii and Twiddle as backup fullback (right now neither are higher than 2nd choice NRL fullback - if someone else wants to pay them higher than that, that’s their risk) and if the odd one out isn’t happy being the backup to the backup then all we need to find is a 3rd string fullback to replace them (who people will whinge isn’t a good enough player), or Bamblett steps in (we’ve heard that before).

Reserve grade will be week for a month or so while the best reggies have to fill in in first grade. Wait until they go back so that it is a strong reggies team and then bring Bamblett up to play in that strong team.

Either did Cleary but.He was plod...
My only problem with Bamblet atm is he is a big on a ball hog at time and pushes the miracle play. Fix that and he could play nrl in 2027.
Cleary was a very good jnr but was stuck behind Brock Lamb in all the rep teams.
Lamb was by far the best ball playing junior in many years but came into first grade when everyone needed to be able to wrestle behemoths, which he absolutely could not do.

Lots of kids stand-out in Ball and never make it as well.. Its the kids that work on their game 24/7 that have the best chance.
(Unless your dads the coach 😅🫣🤫)
Apa was decent in Ball into the 2023 win though.
Yep there's a lot of staggered defences in junior footy so anyone with speed will stand out. Look at Riley Davis. I think he's zero chance of playing NRL.

Probably but who knows certainly not your or I.... Staggered defence or not you need to have the vision and skill to take advantage of it.

I didn't think Apa would make it into the NRL but had 1 game and 2 tries now.
