Board meeting set for Tuesday night… not sure Flanno survives.. might just get a stay of execution as south’s and roosters look very gloomy, perhaps wait and do over the bye round. Phones no doubt running hot now behind the scenes.
Such a bad decision playing Kyle…agree with other posters he still looked affected by the concussion and was more cautious and off the pace than normal.

Hold on fellas. Let's not get too hot headed.

Let's be real here. Sua and Leilua have been two of our better players in a horrible year. Adding Keaon to those two plus Stewart, Egan and Halangahu and you are cooking with gas

I'm all for a clean out but these two we should at least try to hang on to. This is why we needed to be quicker to address the free fall we've been in.
To me SuA looks to have checked out and is not putting in like last year.
Leilua is the opposite, looks to be the fittest he has been and making an impact, likely to secure next contract. Still makes a lot of errors.. if he passed instead of kicking last night with the overlap we could well have continued to the momentum to victory…
I am ok with them both going. almost $1.5M of salary there for a quality 1 and other backline updates. We have many good back rowers coming through.
halangahu
Nick T
Egan
And could recruit 1 or two

My rationale is it's easier to keep a player than to attract one over. Surely we will have a fresh face in the coaches box soon and that might start to improve recruitment.

Go to sleep think we might get Fuller/Drinkwater, wake up hearing we lose one/two influential forwards. Typical.

Agree not worth mourning the loss of either but a clean out only works if you bring new, better players in. Trusting our club to do that?

That Reed rumour is complete rubbish IMO. He's literally just resigned with us and the Broncos have Pezet coming next year. Broncos have plenty of halves. Some Facebook clown made this up methinks.

It's my misfortune to support two teams in different codes - the Dragons and Liverpool in the EPL (I like red and white supporter colours). Both teams currently have supporters venting on social media about the boring, negative playing style favoured by the manager/coach and the constant losses. Fans of both clubs are walking out before the end of matches, booing the coaches/managers and players and fed up with the owners for refusing to take action to rectify the situation. Players from both clubs have either signed with or are linked with other clubs from next season.

At least Liverpool's manager Arne Slot can claim that he won the EPL title in 2024-5 but Flanagan has nothing but the gift of the gab to fall back on.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Tuesday Board meeting merely confirmed that the Board retains full confidence in coach Flanagan and, given the Dragons were actually leading in the match against Manly at one point, this is as good as a win. Therefore, he is being offered a further one extension on his contract.
Its the Famous Tuesday Monthly Board Meeting
Nothing more
Media jumping on the carcas as much as they can
Hook was sacked Mon Morning when he arrived for training

Sua informed the club& players he won’t exercise his option for 2027.
I’m actually happy. Look at his game lately, been slow getting back into line , moving sideways is getting difficult , has been beaten multiple times on his outside.
I think the ankle issues from last year still exsist.

Cant say smart move by the club but not worried when we have Hanagalu & Egan waiting.

Was the same as JDB, starting to move slower .
Extra 700k in our pockets
Sua still has a lot to offer, he he has been our best player in the two full seasons coached by your man the Fraud.

He will thrive under Ryles' coaching like a lot of the Parra team are currently, good get for the Eels.

The only thing that stood out like dogs knackers last night was that Liddle needs to start and play 50-60 mins with Cook getting 10-15mins either side of the halftime break.
1000% it won't happen though because Fraudagan signed Cookie and as if Cookie being co captain would agree or be happy with this. Fraudagan has to appease his favourites.

Had we never signed Cook, Liddle would be our starting hooker and have basically any player to play 10 mins or so at dummy half, we'd be much better for it.

As I said before the game ha changed, conventional front rowers are struggling with the new game. Back rowers now seem to be more suited to front row. They are more mobile.
Leilua would make a very good new type front rower just like Keon. Maybe Sua could be the same which would fix our front row.
I also feel Sua would be a terrific back rower. If that's the case Alamotte Averillo or Shibasaki would be good to chase.
Plus another fast winger to partner Sami as our two wingers are very ordinary
Throw Suli into the pack , he doesn't do it for me as a centre ...... Tries scored are non existent .......

I'm ok with Su'a leaving. He'll be 29 at the end of the season.

Although he's still a damaging runner and reasonably good defender, I don't think he's going to get us to the promised land. So, it's time to bring in the next wave.

Egan, Truck, RCouch and NT will be itching to take his spot and if Luch decides to look elsewhere or we move him to the middle (my preference) then another chance opens up.

As for the middle:
KK and TCouch to start
Stewart at lock
Bench: Sele (can also play lock) and Luch

No Cake, Kerr or Guler

Let him go now and play Halangu and Egan
I think the eels will push for him to go this year, have had a lot of injuries to forwards.. perhaps we could get a decent back in return.
Now our season is a right off there is going to be a lot of musical chairs with coaching and players

I thought Duffy was a standout for them against the Cowboys as well- Dearden, who isn't effusive, was complimentary of his ability before the match and he just about matched Dearden imo.
