It all went downhill for Dr Death after he left Canberra at the end of 1995.

I believe there is two stats that do rule them out.
No team has lost 5 of their first 6 and won the comp.
And no team has lost 6 in a row and won the comp.

5 losses in a row and recovered to win the premiership has been done twice that I'm aware of, Broncos '06 and Storm '12.
