Well. If he was wanting out because the team was going so well and he was behind some top players I’d understand. Problem is, he’s behind 2 plodders and the team hasn’t won a game in 10 matches. What the f**k are they doing? f**k this team. Bunch of dumb merkins. Can they just move to Adelaide so I don’t have to care anymore?

As far as my age is concerned all I shall say is I can remember with clarity those good years for the Dragons from the early years to the end of their reign . However times change that is why many off us no longer retain the good looks of our younger years.

The team itself is not even a reflection of the teams of the past , however the thinking of our board members seemly is fixed back in time to those good old days believing that the golden era is still here .

Wake up you pack of useless bastards , the year is 2026 and the mighty dragons are no more , you lot are simply pushing us to the brink of extinction !

Rant over .
Mate, I admitted my age. I didn’t say I’d lost my good looks.

Its like a loved one that has been very sick has finally died. At the moment I can't bear to hear their name or talk about them. Its too raw and sad. Hopefully in the future I will be able to occasionally visit the grave-site by watching some old Blacklock videos.....
See y'all. I'm done. My weekends are so much happier now that I dont waste a bunch of hours in agony. Probably good for health too.
Ditch the Dragons and live longer.
Peace

The unfortunate truth is that no other club was going to hire Flanno ...including my down in the dumps post Madge WT because they didn't want Kyle locked into the halves for the duration as part of the deal. First thing you need is an Administrator ....I'd love to get Richo back after the HBG idiocy forced him out but that's not gonna happen...you should get him before the similarly stricken eels do....you need a success proven administrator with a license to hire and fire from top to bottom..in your situation every other singular ( hoped for) fix is nothing but a bandaid

Spot on. Not only is Flanno digging himself into a hole by constantly picking his son, sticking with the same underperforming players and refusing to give any youngsters a go in the squad, buit he's essentially stopping himself from getting hired in a different capacity at a different club because they'll see what hes done at the Dragons and not hire him. I think thats the part Shane is struggling to see - if he is sacked, will clubs hire him?

Your's will be his last NRL coaching job...there's zero doubt about that

We have lost a few players because of Flanno's dislike and poor attitude toward them.
Molo
Hunt
Lomax
Illias
Glover
Latu
LPT???

All players who have had run ins with the coach and moved on. The warning signs were there very early on that players didn't want to play under him.

Yes, prior to us appointing him, his name had been thrown around the media for other vacant coaching roles. Every other club in the NRL that needed a coach, were smart enough to know he was damaged goods, unfortunately we weren't and decided to take a punt on the cheating despo.

In my opinion the biggest problem we have is the 50/50 ownership model. Neither side willing to commit proper money to the club because neither are actually the majority owner. I wouldn’t either if I wasn’t a majority owner. This is what has hamstrung us. We are an Amateurish shambles as a result, because we are not willing to spend coin on the best executive team and coaching structure.
Both sides need to sell to an owner who is committed to spending to improve all levels of the club. I believe this is what Gould was alluding to and I agree with him.
As for LPT, he had clearly already decided he was going, when the stories broke 6 months ago. I think that was when he was offered an extension and turned it down. Hence being excluded from the team. I have no evidence of this but it makes sense given Flanagan’s preference to have quality juniors sign extensions before they get an extended run at nrl level. All those crapping on about us letting him go are probably way off the mark. My bet is they wanted to keep him but he wanted to know what other clubs would pay him.

The last time Gould got involved he supported Mary. How did that turn out?

When we assess Gould's changes at the Dogs, several key points stand out:
1. He secured a major sponsorship that offers a competitive advantage, likely aided by third-party funding for essential player contracts.
2. He brought in an emerging coach with a track record of success at a previous club, and he successfully recruited about five players from that team.
3. Additional key players, such as Thompson, have also been acquired.

Balmain has implemented similar strategies.

Alongside these changes, our organisation has undergone significant transformations at the board level, with a new CEO, a state-of-the-art peak performance center, major sponsorships, and a dedicated high level recruitment manager. We've also enhanced our junior pathways through local and external

external - key youth signings
cooper Young
Rokko Walker
KILISIMASI
Alexander and Cornelius Pupualii

Value signings for the future
Coutts 21
Bailey Carmichael 21

We successfully secured a top prop for five years, and if we continue to attract marquee signings in the next wave, we will be well-positioned financially to make the these happen.

a key halfback we have Reed for 2027/28 most likely but we need another key half unless LKT and or AtKo can jump ahead significantly

However, a crucial aspect still missing is improved game results and possibly a coaching shake-up. This is a delicate situation, especially if we are in advanced discussions to finalise a few key recruits.

You couldn’t make this crap up, sack Flanagan now. Lawrie before him FFS

This is all on Flanagan and the board for extending him, they should all just quit.
I was trying to think who Tonga reminds me of as a player to benchmark his potential success against

?

I’m not sure if he has a starting role for us vs KK and Couchie

if through Ando (who rates himself as a top level prop recruiter) we have another player in mind that is older and more ready for the right $ that makes sense to me

Fairly damning accusations by Matt Roger’s in the below article. Surely at an NRL level there is a clear peak performance stat plan for each player - physically, technically and mentally ?

I do wonder whether a big offer is in from another club verbally via Tongas manager - and they are using the same narrative that Galvins management used ie I’m not being coached

As for Watsford, cant judge him yet until he comes out and tells us the plan.. hopefully he is in the background getting all his ducks in a row (and there is a lot to work through).. and equally as important... that he is able to sell that vision (or most of it) through this damn board of ours.

Sacking the coach is the easy bit mind you, its all the stuff that comes next that matters... and if he is unable to get the board to agree to some meaningful change in a time of absolute crisis like we are in... then honestly what's the point of anything anymore..

According to the SMH, the Dragons have tabled a three-year deal for the Drinkwater.
It has been rejected.

Drinkwater’s agent Gavin Orr, however, told Wide World of Sports that the Dragons’ bid was “not what we are looking for at this stage”.

“They are going to have to come up with something better,” he added.

then i see this other report that says otherwise. he's deciding.
