A very long and honest article about Coote. he speaks very highly and honestly about his time at Penrith and especially his dealings with Ivan Cleary.

If you remember his time at Penrith, it's worth a read.

Great guy. Had the pleasure of enjoying a few beers with him many moons ago.
He grew up with my wife's cousins - and came around for a bonfire during his Bye week.

Interesting stats here. Shows we are smart with our challenges and maybe that we get targeted for shit we know is wrong.
I'm surprised the percentage isn't higher tbh. We seem very good at knowing when to challenge. I'd say its skewed by the garbage challenges to catch some breath near the end of a game, as it feels rare that we lose one when it matters.

Yeah there's definitely been a few strategic challenges that weren't about winning.

This is also great. Hasn't luke Lewis improved his communication skills. I understand upon retiring he sought out some special expertise via vocal training (at his own expense) I admire this.

Glad he won another comp but the man should have played 300 games for Penrith

I totally agree. At the time I was so angry at Luke for leaving. On reflection he had little or no choice, and was put in a dreadful positions. Lots of years of poor management didn't help either

I am so impressed with what he's done post footy, and also of course that he openly expresses his love for Penrith.

I was angry at the Club and also the coach that this happened. Was one of my all-time favourite players and was at the peak of his powers (and Captain) when he left, but unfortunately, he was a victim of Elliot's 'player power' matey mates culture and could not handle what turned out to be a proper coach in IC.

He had to if he wanted to develop his career on ABC Radio. When he first started on the Radio he was quite rough but a few years on now he is more than decent.

I totally agree. I admire him for doing the work (so to speak) I understand he privately funded voice lessons to achieve this. It would have taken a lot of hard work (and money) to achieve what he now sounds like.
