Look through your crystal ball:

Round 4: Eels (Home)
Round 5: Storm (Home)
Round 6: Dogs (Away)
Round 7: Dolphins (Away)
Round 8: Knights (Away)
Round 9: Sea Eagles (Home)
Round 10: Raiders (Away)
Round 11: Dragons (Home)
Round 12: BYE
Round 13: Warriors (Home) - Backing up from Origin

Unless you think we are going to win 12/12 then at some point we drop a match or two. My predictions:

Top 8 sides:

Storm (Win)
Dogs (Win)
Raiders (Win)
Warriors (Loss)

We have that big game DNA and its been scary to watch so far in 2026. We potentially win all 4 of these but I have to find a loss somewhere so it will be against the Warriors game after Origin.

Bottom 8 sides:

Eels (Win)
Dolphins (Loss)
Knights (Win)
Sea Eagles (Win)
Dragons (Win)

Dolphins the hardest of the lot and the most likely team to contend for the top 8 in 2026. We could go into that off the back of 6 straight wins and after big games against the Storm/Dogs.

Eels loss maybe? Consider that we might have one eye on next weeks match against the Storm. Sea Eagles / Dragons would be a gigantic boil over. They have been absolutely awful so far this year.

Storm is the obvious danger game - although without Blore, Katoa, Lisati, Seve and Coates they're much weaker. Not sure if they have the discipline to survive the grind with us though. Only way they beat us is if they catch us off guard and score 2-3 tries in the first quarter.

Raiders in Rnd 10 could be a season defining game for them. Week before the Bye, and likely sitting at 3-6, Ricky may get them up for it.

And yeah, Warriors after Origin could be ugly. If we're sitting at 11-0 or 10-1 or 9-2, we're resting players through Origin. Gonna need all hands on deck, and minimal injuries to get close to them.

Hard to see us losing to any of those teams given how we look now, but equally hard to see us only losing only one game in the first 3 months of the comp, and only because weve rested players post origin. We'll put in a random poor half against a team who's genuinely up for it at some point. The margins in the NRL are always pretty fine.

I know it’s kinda dumb to talk about 2027 when we are only three rounds into 2026 but i so hope we have an away game against the Perth bears in 2027but our daughter lives there. Panthers tragic and our little grandson he still a few months shy of two but he has more panthers clothing from pyjamas to shorts, tshirts and jerseys you could fill the Panthers shop honesty. We travel to Perth at least three times a year to visit, it would be so special to have a visit in 2027 to take our little fella to our game.

As the defending premiers I think we will get a game over there. Good hype for the new side.

I second that.

I'd like to say that I've been to watch every team home and away. I've got all the QLD and NZ away games still on the list. From NSW I think Newcastle is the only team I haven't watched away.

Gives me a reason to travel to Perth as well. The edge of the world as far as Australians are concerned.

Going to an away game against the warriors i highly recommend, but if your going to travel over that way it is probably best to include a holiday other than just the footy.

Yeah I had a look before. Not sure if I'd be holidaying in August or not this year.

I would have gone last year in June but I saw it was effected by Origin so I gave it a miss. Likewise I skipped the Raiders game in Mudgee thinking that Canberra wouldn't even make the 8 in 2025...it was one of the best games of the season haha.

Auckland is a fun city in its own right with plenty to see and do even if you don’t travel around the north island.

there stadium is a little way out of the main city, we had a hire car when we were there so I’m not sure how public transport works.

I came across this podcast a little while ago Sauce with Gus. It's a great listen.

TBH Gus is a wonderful salesperson he could sell coal to Newcastle.

When he wants to be, he can very engaging.

Anyone believing a single word out of Gus' mouth about any subject is a fool

Look I know the bloke does at times stretch the truth, and sometimes lies.

I also don't agree with some things he says. I've stripped that back and just listened to his stories.

I'm looking at it strictly as an engaging personality. It was (I believe) a good listen.
