Off a WT podcast from guys in the know

I’m happy with Bula long term as I still think he has a high ceiling however I have a bad feeling we would have caved in to I Moses demands regarding money and length
It’s not Moses we have to worry about re the money being asked for. The odd god person thinks they are destined for greatness and deserve maximum $$’s regardless …humble is never a consideration regardless of the affected persons around them. At times this can turn out massively pear shaped because they are basically going in blind.. I think Bulla stuck to his guns and therefore St George have fallen away deal wise. If he’s signed to a club it’ll be for silly dollars that he thinks he’s entitled to.. I’d be more than happy to see the pear shaped result

I do agree he’s definitely tested the market (through no doubt his parasite manager who always squeezes every last cent out of clubs) and would probably have left for ridiculous money.

however I think the longer this drags on the more it works in our favour, there’s no way clubs would want to wait this long before sorting out their long term fullback for next year and beyond because they have to sort out the rest of their squad too

Bula does seem like a humble kid but nobody really knows what goes on behind closed doors

Xerri will definitely leave the Dogs at the end of the year. f**k signing players like that and merkins who use their managers to cause shit and destabilase clubs to make money. That's a shit go and smacks of someone trying to squeeze every cent out of club no matter what the cost to others to make up for the cash he lost when he got busted for doping.

Also what's with calling a 25 year old a kid, stop that bullshit, At 25 you're a man.

We don't need Xerri.

We are strong in three quarter line depth. We had Tavana, May, To'a and Lualili'i all not playing FG yesterday through a combination of injuries, return from injuries and suspensions and Pat Herbert walked in and put on a strong showing and he's been out of first grade for four years. Skelton maybe not so much but with May and Tavana looking like they'll be back next week he won't factor in.

It'll be shit for Herbert to come in like that, play the way he did and then get dropped immediately but May cannot miss out and Tavana should come back in as well. The only thing might be giving Masi a week in cup to manage him.

Unrelated, if we aren't talking to Liam Martin on November 1 this year we have rocks in our head.

I have a kiwi mate still with nrl connections and he once told me that football club recruiters are constantly talking to players/managers and vice versa to keep up with the Jones as they say.
Just because they have several players portfolios, it doesn't mean it progresses past first base and is usually kept in file 13.

Not sure about the Tavana hype. I’ve seen the amazing try and the high jump over the fox..but apart from that?? I saw shorts of Herbert against the knights, tackling sidestepping on tic toc …and it was a mean step and he’s got speed to burn. I think he will be untouchable after the Broncos game. Plus he’s from the same home town as Benji so their relations are close, according to Benji in the presser..I think he’s locked in unless he pulls a Skeleton or dare I say it a Herbert to lose the game

Tavana is far from a finished product, but he looks a lot more complete than Laulili'i though IMO, except for kick returns. I'm not upset with the back five named. Herbert's showing at centre last week is better than anything Masi has managed this year, and he looks stronger on the wing, and I'd sooner pick him over Tavana. TBH it's quite a strong three quarter line assuming everyone plays to their best. Herbert and Turuva looked like they'd played 5 seasons together and May was in fine form for us last year. If he comes back in that rare form both our wingers are going to have a field day.

What if Cleary had the itch to stay in Sydney, and to play with his old halves partner in Jarome Luai.
Now, in the current climate, it would be an almighty gamble from the Tigers, because they would have to spend well into the millions to get both players.
But they would automatically become the best halves partnership in the game. Origin players, premiership winners alongside each other. It's a scary thought.
Adam Doueihi, who recently re-signed out to the end of 2029, can play other positions, and given the jury is still very out on Latu Fainu, the Tigers could more than make this work if they can come up with the cash.
That will be an easier scenario if Jahream Bula decides not to exercise his option and leave the club.
Of course, speaking of options, Luai still hasn't taken up his beyond the end of this year.

Thoughts, worth remembering that Luai hasn't resigned as yet?

Is anyone really concerned ? I'm not. I can't see us even attempting to get Cleary either. I can't see it happening.

Luai has a long term contract that remains in place unless someone offers him more than us and he chooses to leave. That is highly unlikely to happen. That article should read Luai has chosen to retain the options in his contract that allow him to leave at any point but there is no suggestion he will leave.

Preston is under contract with the Bulldogs until the end of 2027. He’s one of ten players off contract at the end of next season.

I couldn't give a f**k about the dogs, but 10 players off contract in one season is a problem, so happy for them.

Have him send a resume....a little about himself and where he sees himself in 5.years...we could probably use a bit of depth on the wings though so you never know

Tigerm, I don't really want Preston but lets pretend we do and give the Dogs some of their own back...lets talk him up like they do to our players and let them pay through the nose for him...creamy!!!!
