Some very clever comments from Abdo. He’s touched on some of the worries some have about the takeover, without making any promises and has said a lot of what we already knew and what a lot of people already thought.

If this does get of the ground, I have a feeling they'll get a new logo rebranding for both NRL comps

Comments section isnt too encouraging.

Looks like the flatcappers are happy to watch the sport spiral into oblivion.
That’s like judging what the average NRL fan thinks by pulling up a random thread on this forum. What you read on forums and YouTube comments tells you nothing about what most fans are thinking.

I don’t want to hear any Australian here ever denigrate Super League again when Matt Dufty is getting a game in the NRL. If burnt fence panel teeth can get a game, anyone can regardless of age, ability or motor skills.

That’s mixing two different articles together to try and create hits and they’ve certainly done that. Abdo’s comments were from this week, Caddick’s are from before Abdo set foot in the UK.

It’s interesting how the English rl media keep raising some key issues they know the fans are going to be against. Wether it’s just clickbait or they know something who knows?

1. A return to winter. 0% fans would be in favour of this
2. Mergers. 0% fans would be in favour of this
3. Reduction to 10 team SL with only 7 from the heartlands. 0% of fans in favour of this.

hard to know if it’s just to rile up the responses or if nrl actually thinks any of these sht ideas are plausible?

I think Andrew needs to pull them into a room and let them know, if they want the real breaking stories, it's not going to the one's that are spreading lies.

Abdo has said no such thing.

The articles are all click bait, that's all the media is these days, doesn't matter if its politics or sport the aim is to trigger readers to get more engagement, traffic and therefore revenue.

What are the fans in favour of ?

From what I read … it’s getting an unrealistic amount of money (up to $500m over 5 years ) whilst maintaining control of the running of the game

Part of what the NRL is offering is proven expertise in growing revenue, crowds and ratings … but I’m not sure anyone is putting much of a value on that … hence why I’m not confident about a deal getting done in 2 months
