If Tavana can’t be selected then it’s a tough one coz all our other options have glaring weaknesses.Id prefer LL over Skelton.I wonder if Herbert could competently handle playing on the wing.

I can’t see Benji dropping the kid & I’ve got no prob backing him & retaining him as like u said he has enormous potential & it’s not wise especially re the possible adverse effect on his confidence to be punishing a precocious kid for 1 poor game

I havnt seen Benji so flustered at a presser. He said he bought madden on to try to nail the game. That was the cat out of the bag. He knows he fked up and he may now know what needs to be done? If I was Benji I’d pull api aside and ask him honestly who should play with jock, AD or Luai. Api’s out there. he’s got a feel for it, before and after.

I can't see it happening but where does he honestly sit in relation to our halves performances over the course of the season.

He was great against the Cowboys and in the trial. He was ordinary against Souths and the Broncos. AD and Madden have been killing it.

I've seen him kill it at Origin level.

The best solution is that he finds a purple patch of form and that is what we are paying him to do.

You make some good points. I can see where the drama is coming from though. Our top paid player, the lack of smarts in the opposition attacking zone (not just Luai but the team) & other players playing well (AD and Madden).

We don't have too long to figure it out either. We need to keep winning games.

TBH, I'm not fazed by any team ATM, not saying we win them all, no team does.
But they have shown enough to believe that are no longer any semblance of previous sides we've had.
I don't think they will win the comp, but top 8 is certainly in reach.
I also think it should go a long way in confirming that maybe Benji can coach.

Douehi is a problem. He isn’t a halfback, he is to big and doesn’t have the natural ability like a Reynolds. He is most dangerous two off the ruck running the ball.

Madden being a natural halfback needs to start alongside Luai. Let’s not forget this is Madden’s third crack at first grade and the broncos let him go even with an injury prone, aging Reynolds on the books.

I'm willing to give our left side attack a chance.........for the moment, as Luai and May were back after 3 weeks out. As many have pointed out the attack was moving way too laterally and that was making us easy pickings for the broncos defence.

The concern out of that though is that Benji either didn't notice it, or he did and asked for it the attack to be straightened but it was ignored / couldn't be fixed by Luai. Conversely, if Marshall didn't notice the attack needed straightening then Luai should have, and made the adjustments on the run.

I'll be more critical if this continues over the next couple of weeks.

Terrell May touches the ball way too much when we're on attack in the 20. So does Twal. Between them, they'd have as many touches as the halves. Marshall needs to find a way to fix this.

I agree that Masi needs some time in reggies to find his confidence, and to seek out some willingness to dish out and take some punishment / contact.

It's still early in the season. Now is the time to experiment. We've seen Doueihi with Luai and Madden with Doueihi, so it makes sense to try Madden and Luai together.

The problem with Doueihi is that people want him to start, but we have better specialists in every position. Utility is his best spot due to his versatility, but with the new bench, genuine utilities are less valuable.
