I think Joash’s footwork and speed are massively overrated. Barely busts tackles or makes line breaks.

I think also his biggest issue is he passes when there is a backline sweep even when it isn't on . He is still going to throw it. Its like a premeditated training move rather then what's infront of him. Nearly always ends in a mistake or intercept or the winger being tackle wide out which wastes the next play.
Needs to learn to cut back in when nothing is on.

Iongi arguably has a higher ceiling at fullback, and Joash is not really a 5/8...

But his energy, and enthusiasm, is too important to leave out of the side...

Maybe as a centre?

Its a shame hes a little too small and we have iongi. Utility is probably going to be his best bet at consistent nrl footy. Maybe if he got a little stronger and kept his speed he could scrape by being a winger. Alas its a shame but looking like hell only be a back up fullback or utility player. Hes still young and may surprise us like sean has but i cant see it yet. I do love his passion for the game and desire to play for the badge... hope hes around the club but i can see how he eventually leaves

I agree with this. He has to run first to hold the defensive line and then selectively pass

Hes got foot work. He just doesn't get in space to use it.

I think it was his first game at either right wing or centre he setup a nice try with foot work but like i said above, he doesn't have space

He should play to his strengths and not come in and pass per the play book

I think theyre both roughly the same age. Twidle has the more favourable physique but i feel like joash is a better defender despite his size and can play more positions. Twidle did have the most epic debut ever and now is injured. I would love to see twidle get a go while samrani and bailey are both out i feel like hed be a better winger of the two

Good footwork creates space. Papalii dances around and creates no space.

I've called out his defense as beeing poor. But then I thought about it.He is the same age as Blaize. 21 who had a shocker against the Dogs and bounced back the following week . Penrith are happy to work with him and develop him slowly even with his poor defense just like we did with developing Moses defense which was basically non-existent when he arrived. If we want to develop Twiddle then he has to be given a shot. Simple as that. His run and passing game has surpassed Joash. Joash is better under the high ball and defense but not exactly great at either. Twiddle will only have to improve slightly in those areas to be as good but with a much bigger frame could end up much better. Once they are he will be superior in every department.
