minichiello is a better fullback than Hodgson.
Hodgson has had one great yr (2005)...mini has had 3 great ones at fullback in a row.

Dally M fullback of the yr? Thanks Paul Kent, Dean Ritchie, James Hooper...and my fav. Karl De Kroo. Yeah those guys played how many 1st grade games? These guys are the "Mr Agendas"

FFS.

Do you actually watch games that involve the Wests Tigers?

NRL.com. Look up the stats. Prince and Marshalls line break assists is what made Hodgson's line break count high. He makes less unassisted line breaks than the Golden Moth - who incidentally is up for the best player in the world award. :)

BS. I worked for the company that did NRL stats this year and that is simply untrue. I was waiting for your miraculous proof.

yes i do. I said he had a great yr in 2005.
2004 he was good.
2003 he was basically non existant (eels)
2002 he started well and then went downhill (eels)

compare that with mini's last 4 yrs and i believe Mini is way out in front.

bullsh*t.

You said "Hodgson has had one great yr (2005)..."

He was great in 2004 in a poor side and he was fantastic in 2001.

He was damn good in piss poor sides in 98 and 99 too when he probably weighed 65 kilos.

His only sub-par year was 2003 and he's had 3 great years in the past 5.

It wasn't just the Dally M judges who voted Hodgson as the better fullback in 2005.

For example I have the final Rugby League Week from this year close by and I notice that Hodgson poled ahead of Minichiello in their player of the year tally...

So why you keep saying it was only Paul Kent et al who thought Hodgson had the better year I have no idea...

Charlie is holding a grudge because we knocked his pissweak team out of the comp.

Funny that, it was the only game of the semis that I was 100% sure we'd win.

no grudges EA.
This has nothing to do with the broncos/tigers.
This has to do with minichiello and hodgson and minichiello is ahead of Hodgson.
Hodgson will be like Hastings....good players, but had greater players in front of them.

No that has nothing to do with it. Some of you should write a book, you can call it "How to go from liked to arrogant wankers in an off season".

Minicheillo is a better fullback than Hodgson, deal with it. Thurston won the over all Dally M and halback of the year, does that make him better than Johns?

I suppose the journos who voted for Mini in the golden boot have more credibility, have less agendas?

Umbrellas up, raincoats on....melony will be here soon.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I find this award somewhat confusing, I know its on account of peoples opinions, just like ours here.....but somehow opinions seem more relevant if certain palyers teams or results are on the line.

Mini did nowhere near anything more than Hodgso throughout the NRL season, or about 90% of the season....he along with the rest of his team lost more than they won, they tackled well but anyone can defend, they couldnt score tries, which is 50% of the backs game. FFS they were in the bottom 5 of the comp when it comes to attack.
I know this award covers more than that, but Hodgson was clearly the better fullback here for the domestic season BY A LONG WAY, the stats back it up.
Unfortunately he wasnt selected in reps, didnt get the chance to show what he has in that arena, thems the breaks.
But clearly Hodgsos been better in the arena theyve both competed in this year...easily better.

Congrats to Minichello, a great player.

Hodgo is at the very least the equal of Mini but there really aint a struck match between them either way.

I am sure Tigers fans wouldn't swap Hodgo for Mini and Roosters fans vice-versa.

I'm not going to argue the relative merits of Mini and Hodgo, I think they're both classy Fullbacks but they are totally different fullbacks too. And as good as Mini is, I still wouldn't swap him for Hodgo (Truth be told I wouldn't swap their whole backline for Hodgo), but anyone that says Hodgo has had one great season is as good a judge as that bloke who put his prediction that the Tigers would win the spoon this year in his signature.....

yes he had one great yr...i stand by that, and that was 2005.
He has not been consistent throughout his whole career.
You go back to 98/99....pathetic magpies teams sure, and Brett was a the best of a sad lot, but he didnt have great yrs (great is a strong word).
Mini and brett and different fullbacks...totally different, but IMO i think Mini is the better custodian. You think otherwise...it is a debate that is going to go nowhere as you wont change my mind and i know you wont change yours.
