Manchester United v Barcalona

I highly doubt it, not with the tactics employed tonight. Is this team battling relegation? Even the very best would be pleased with one goal in the face of such cowardice. Chelsea-Liverpool eat your heart out, if Barca don't get a result next week it'll be a travesty of justice. For all the praise that Manchester United get for their play, to go out there and produce anti-football is gutless, and in that sense I think Craig Foster has every right to call in to question the quality of the EPL.
Anti-football? What are you on about?

The only thing that matters is winning football these days. Just look at Greece and Italy. Winners of the last Euro Championship and World Cup and yet both played far from the most attractive football. They played winning football.

As have Liverpool who may make their 3rd Champs league final in the last 5 years. Of course wining football isnt always ugly football. The performance of the English sides against the italian giants this year have been excellent.

Arsenal played all over AC milan who didnt create a chance over two legs. Does that call into qurestion the quality of the Serie A? Of course not. it's a great league, the best over the last 15 year period since money and exposure really exploded in the game.

Fact is one or two games doesnt call into question the obvious quality of a league. Only an idiot with an obvious dislike for a particular league would suggest so.

Craig Foster hates English football, absolutely despises it actually. I think it is a matter of swimming against the tide.

Barcelona dominated but that was always going to happen with the way United approached the game. United sat back and ALLOWED Barca to dominate and dictate possession. The fact that barca had so much and couldn't do anything with it shows how much they will struggle in the return leg when United actually come out to play.

I didn't like the way we played (boot it to ronaldo and hope for the best) but hey, we got the result we were after.

Barca put ONE nice move on in the whole game and Foster reckons that it was a football lesson to Man United lol what a knob!!! Also saying that Barca has demolished Man United. lol he has no fkn idea. The fact that barca had so much possession and could not do anything would be demorilizing and will play on them a bit.

My question is did Craig Foster give himself the title of "Football Analyst"?

Weasel is right in calling Man U gutless though, for sitting back and not taking the game to barca. Barca were there for the taking, if man u took the game to them, got in front, the crowd would have got on Barca's back and they may well have crumbled

What a sh1t game.

Gutless and boring from both teams.

Barcelona: Pass, pass, pretty pass, pretty pass, pass, pass, pass, ping, ping, triangle, triangle, pretty pass, pretty pass, pass, ping, triangle, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, triangle, ball lost near box.

Utter sh1t. I want my sleep back.

Why is it funny, Abz? For all Barca's pretty play, they have f**k all graft and drive. No balls.

United were horrible also, could barely string any passes together. All Ronaldo did was miss a penalty and proceed to whinge and moan to the ref and fall to the floor like a potato sack everytime someone breathed on him. Pathetic performance.

Absolute rubbish. Two hours of my life that I'll never get back.

They're the ultimate side with no heart and nothing to play for.

They cant win their league. Their manager wont be there next year. Ronadinho has agreed to terms with AC Milan, Et'o said he wants to leave this week. They've won one from their last eight league games. Completely outplayed over two leagues by Schalke, they were just fortunate Schalke couldnt finish.

Yes I am a Barca fan but you have a good sense of humour

And the comment about Ronaldo falling like a potato sack...

its a shame, this tie a couple of years ago would have absolutely made me cream my pants, but atm with the way Barcelona are going, its just another match-up.

no one falls as often as Iniesta. That was a pathetic display by him. Nice you can grab GIFs off the kennel (although you don't go there any more :sarcasm: ).

Well I'm so glad this was such a thrilling game, as was anticipated, compared to the snooze-fest the night before ...

The only funny thing here is Man City fans laughing at others failures in Europe. When you make it then you can have a chuckle.

I'm starting to agree with the criticisim of Ronaldo in big matches and particularly in Europe. That was a dreadful penalty attempt and while we'll take nil all, a 1-0 victory would've almost certainly secured us a final spot.

Also say what you like about the style of Man U but I'd be more damning of Barcelona. 65% of possession and 90 minutes of total domination and apart from a couple of half-decent shots from Henry at the death they didn't even come remotely close to scoring.
