Yes we had a bit left but now we have changed our mind and are using it to keep Lowrie our star backrower.

First of all, where was it reported that the Club made an offer to Ennis?
Secondly, why is Todd Lowrie the fall guy in all of this?

Can you guys start playing him in the back row, since he will probably play there next year.

If you can't do that, play him in the centres with Inu outside him.

we'll play him thhe way we want to play him...maybe develop a few players of your own...****in lazy cuties.

I know us fans don't see what goes on behind closed doors, eg. training and attitude but it seriously must mean something that 95% of parra supporters on this forum are deadset shattered that we've let Williams go.....and then compounding our distress they go and pick him in 1st grade the week after he signs with Manly. It's like a freaking nightmare.

It makes sense people while we will not counter offer; Williams contract will naturally be incentive based because he's young, Parra are going away from incentive based contracts.......you work it out, it aint going to happen.

It's not Lowrie's fault but the fact that our braniac coach rates him and Joe G ahead of Williams shows him up for the moron that he is.

I remember back in the mid 20o0's your old favourite did a similar thing to a bloke called Mateo. During those days braniac Brian Smith rated people like Wagon, Steve Crouch and Lee Hopkins ahead of him.

And Don't start me on Fitzy, he is an ignorant stubborn old fool who also has no idea. The day he leaves will be celebrated like a premiership win.

F*cking idiots, the lot of them.

PARRAMATTA claimed last night the club would not attempt to re-sign rising star Tony Williams, who has agreed to play the next three years with Manly.
There was speculation yesterday that the Eels may make a last-ditch bid for Williams, who cannot officially sign with Manly until after 13 June.
Luke Lewis used the same NRL clause to renege on his Souths deal to remain with the Panthers.
Williams emerged as a future star with a blockbusting performance in Parramatta's 30-12 win over Canberra at Parramatta Stadium on Saturday night.
Asked would the Eels make a late play for Williams, coach Michael Hagan said: "I don't know we're in a position to do that.
"We have made other commitments for players for next season."
Eels chief executive Denis Fitzgerald said talk of his club approaching Williams again was "news to me".

Hold on. Smithy kept Mateo under contract and sent him to London Broncos to fine tune his footy and for him to set his priorities in life. It kinda worked I think.

Mateo was quoted as saying that Brian Smith did not rate him. Smith was notorious for f*cking up re: player retention/selection.

Eg, Hayne, Andrew Ryan, Willie Tonga, Jason Cayless, Brett Hodgson and don't start me on the ones he rated. Wise Kativerata and Junior Langi come to mind.

hard to say whether holding him back screwed him or made him better (for all we know he may have been too young and may have not been what he is now if he went into first grade earlier???) ..... all I'd say is thank god he's still here now, cos we'd be absolutely f'ed without him this season!!

williams played extremely well in his debut but it'll be interesting to see how he goes on a consistent basis and tested against better quality opposition.

i am unhappy that the club didn't/couldn't retain him but i guess next year will prove if we've made the right decision. there have been plenty of players to come through junior ranks with a tonne of potential that haven't been able to transfer that potential to first grade on a consistent basis.

Yes but theres good potential and great potential. Williams falls in the latter category. At worst he will be a very good 1st grader. At best the skys the limit

maybe. time will tell. i am yet to be sold on him being that good.

like i said, when he faces better opposition we'll see. there's no doubt he can be a devastating runner and trample almost anyone but i think his size may work against him sometimes.
