I hope some of the boys make Jarryd wear one of these around training this week...

Burt's support play may not be as good as last year but we've also got 12 other players on the field who should be prepared to backup the ball carrier. Too many times this year have we made breaks and we've looked to pass it and no ones there so we've had to take the tackle.

Why would he need to wear that?
He obviously sees that Burty is being caught out of position and not returning the ball with any vigour and feels that if he was put back there then he could do a better job and maybe help turn the season around.

Burt has been poor at fullback but Hayne has done NOTHING to demand he get moved their

get rid of both of them

put Inu at fullback

then some combination of Grothe, Williams and Ben filling the spots at centre and wing

Hayne is just as useless if not more then Burt this year
at least Burt has been kicking goals

the pathetic pretty boy diver hasn't even got that going for him

I think everyones missing a major point here.

How do you think Burt will feel after reading that a team mate thinks he should be playing in his position??

If Hayne really said that - then its pretty poor form to say that to a journo. I would be pretty pissed off if I was Burty.

Or maybe Burt might think, sh*t I better start trying a lot harder or Jarryd might take my spot.:sarcasm:

What gives Hayne the right to demand the fullback spot? Who's the coach? And I bet Burt would of been thrilled to see the paper:roll:

Why? For wanting to play in a position where he can be more involved?

He's a fullback and should be played there, end of story. How you expect him to have good form when the fowards are playing like women is beyond me.

So he can spit it out...

And because he's moaned to a journo essentially about his view of a teammate's play, instead of concentrating on his own performance and making it impossible for the coach not to select him in a more significant position, based on form rather than his moaning.

Inu was a great re-signing and shows a great attitude, personally I wish I could turn back time and we let Hayne piss off to Souths, if this is how he reacts to pressure when a team isn't performing well...

FP, I dont think many of the current crop have much respect for each other as it is. We have heard all year that the older players arent happy with the attitude of the younger players, that the 'family' players arent happy with the 'party' players, etc etc. This is just another example.
They certainly dont play like they respect each other. After our final try yesterday when Riddell was walking back to his spot in front of the western terrace for the restart, there was no talk/acknowledgement/gee up/anything between he and Jarryd and whoever else was there. Absolutely no team spirit shown IMHO.

By saying he wants to play a position where he will be a lot more involved?
I think it's good that he wants to do something to help the team pick up their act.

a) if that's his reasoning, then he should keep it out of the media, and leave it to a quiet word between him and his coach
b) he's shown nothing this year to suggest he's a centre's arse, and isn't playing in enough form to "demand" a change of position... I'd shift him from the wing only if it was to bring a player with more motivation and energy into the wing, for the betterment of the team.

Luke Burt is not this team's main problem, not by a long shot. He just puts his head down and does the best he can. If Jarryd would simply now do the same on the wing, then the team would be in a much better position, and ironically Jarryd would be closer to maybe being selected as a fullback or a centre.

Why didn't the spoilt brat whinge and moan about being picked on the wing for NSW, instead of fullback or centre ? Because on current form this is equally ludicrous.

If he wants to do something to earn his reported $400k per annum salary and help the team pick up their act, why didnt he win us the friggen game yesterday?

Saying it to the media doesn't make it happen... let's not count chickens before they hatch.

Jarryd had a chance to show he could get more involved and help the team pick up their act yesterday - sadly he didn't take it. Because maoning to the media is a lot easy for a pretty boy who's believeing his own hype than actually having a decent dig, and paying the club back for the time he lost to a stupid childish suspension...

I'll be the first to take any of these statements back once Jarryd actually plays a decent game this season. But I'm still waiting...

You've hit the nail on the head. And it's the individual superstar pretty boy types - ones that never miss a chance to talk themselves up in the media like Jarryd - who wouldn't know what team spirit was if it hit them with a spear tackle.

I just wish a lot more of them would take a leaf out of Inu's book in terms of attitude, on field and off. I hope for our club's sake the young ones coming through the NYC don't put someone like Jarryd on a pedestal and thing that this type of thing is an OK way to carry yourself.

Bit hard when the ball isn't getting out to him. He at least thinks that at FB he might get the ball with a bit of space to work with.

That's crap. Its a bit hard when he is playing like a busted arse and doesnt appear to the casual observer to want to get his hands dirty and go looking for the ball and in order to make something happen.

So you want him to go into the middle 3rd and take hit-ups cause I thought that's what the forwards were for.
