Exactly and to be honest I want to see the best players playing for NSW, QLD, and Australia.

Same. His Australia days won't be anytime soon. (with Folau, Inglis and Hodges fighting for 2 centre positions)

But he could quiet easily walk into the NSW backline and add some massive spark to our attack.

Jennings is a great young player. But I'd much rather see him playing for Tonga than training for Aus.

im glad he is in the australian squad. he has been quoted in the media in the past saying that he wants to play for australia but will play for tonga if he misses out because it wont affect his chances of australia further down the track. he has also knocked tonga back before to play against them with the junior kanagaroos. i dont want him playing half heartedly for tonga, only to ditch them over the next few years for australia.

white,simpson & jennings should now be barred from teaming up with ireland & tonga when the don't make the australia cut...i'll be interested in seeing if ireland have also put white & simpson in their 40 man squads...

and yes england will NOT be announcing a 40 man squad..nor will tony smith be picking one, he believes players will back off if they now they are in a squad now,he wants them to fight for it right till the end..

There are some decent players in that lineup.

Plus with the number of domestic footballers there is always a good chance of a few unknowns coming through. I feel for PNG with the dud hand they have been given in the draw.

THis naming of squads is an excellent idea. Players should be forced to choose now (you would imagine they have already made their choice). I read somewhere around that once a player accepts selection they cant play for another country, without writing to the RLIF for an exception. It would be great publicity if White and Simpson publicly turned their back on Australia and declared for Ireland. If either is named in the Irish squad, it must happen sooner rather than leader. It would be massive publicity for the World cup, particularly if they have a public feud with Ricky Stuart.

Actually, i am starting to warm to the idea of picking Sonny Bill for the kiwis, also. Huge publicity and would make all kiwi games absolutely massive and almost certainly ensure they are sellouts. But that is for a different thread.
