Some people don't like to give Buderus the recognition he deserves as a player, and while the Dally M's may not be an accurate reflection, I'd like to post a congratulations to Buderus and Gidley for making the top 10 in this years' Dally M Awards :D

I feel Buderus' ranking of 4th, 3 points off first was particularly special in that he only played 15 games compared to Slater's 20, Smith's 21, and Orfords 22. I also thought it was a great effort considering our team was placed 9th in comparison to those placed above him being part of the first and second best teams in the competition, in that the team's performance did not aid Danny as much as the other higher ranked members (some may argue that players from better teams have more competition, but it's not always true). Just imagine what could have been if it wasn't for injuries - a Dally M in his final year in the NRL. Gidley also did well polling 18 points.

So I think a big congrats to Danny and Kurt for their outstanding seasons is in order

Amazing that Kurt got less points than Bedsy...I thought if anyone carried us this year it was Kurt and as we all remember Bedsy completely carried us on his injured body in 07. It would be interesting to see how many points Bedsy got per game this year and last year and compared against the winner.

For 2008:

Orford: 22 games, 24 points = 1.1 points per game
Smith: 21 games, 22 points = 1.05 points per game
Slater: 20 games, 22 points = 1.1 points per game (without the -3 for suspension, 1.25)
Buderus: 15 games, 21 points = 1.4 points per game

He would have won the Dally M if he had played the last 2 games. I think he deserved the captain of the year at the very least!

At his best he was better than Smith, who now gets to look over his shoulder as he starts to get older. Lets see if he can maintain the kind of entusiasm and effort Buderus did under so much pressure.

Too right Holla! I can Isaac being Farah's pain in the rear in 2009 when it comes to rep selection. I am convinced Farah is a mediocre defender and according to a lot of players completely full of himself. O'Meley, who is q great mate of Bedsy's, apparently sledges Farah all the time regarding how much better a player Bedsy is compared to Farah. It even went public this year cos O'Meley kept having a dig at him to stop whingeing cos Buderus will always be a better player.

Farah will also have Ennis to worry about if he continues his Brisbane form at the Dogs.

I hope Ennis doesn't make it, he is the most annoying player in the NRL. For some reason I get the feeling his not a very well liked bloke.

Bedsy should have got Captain of the year for sure bit of a surprise. His 20times the player Orford is aswell.
